Options for validating Bulk import/export of data

Our AEM instance talks to a lot of other systems in terms of export & import of data/assets. Often these export/import is done in Bulk, thus there is enough room for mistakes/exceptions.

Requesting for suggestions what options your might have explored to ease:

  • Effort from business to validate data
  • Effort from AEM tech team to troubleshoot from logs

If we drop emails for each exception, slowly people may start treating it like SPAM and ignore it.

AEM Inbox isn't very user-friendly either.

So, looking for other options

@aanchal-sikka It depends on what you are exporting/importing and correctness of it. If i am importing say product data into AEM with nodes and properties, i know through the code which node is missing any specific metadata and collate the nodes/prop and print it out or create an output for reference. It will ease the validations on business side too. Same can be done what is getting exported from AEM, run the validations from AEM itself before exporting and identify the issues and create an output for technical reference.

Again these suggestion will work if you do import/export thru custom code. If its OOTB solution from Adobe, We need to comb through the logs for missing item or items which are throwing errors. My 0.02$ 🙂
