OpenDDR/ApacheDeviceMap Integration with AEM to use in emulators for Device Detection

We have a requirement to use OpenDDR/ApacheDeviceMap for Server side Device Detection. What would be the effort in integrating OpenDDR/ApacheDeviceMap with AEM so that it replaces WURFL by supporting all the features that are supported by WURFL like managing device groups, supporting emulator, etc along with device detection? Till now I am able to install ApacheDeviceMap bundles, load devicemap database and read the capabilities. Now I am looking for creating Devices, device groups and using them in emulators so that I can test Mobile Adaptiveness of my websites in author instance using the Emulator.

Still in prototype phase to support apachedevicemap. As wurfl alternative use browsermap[1]. Please file official support ticket to track this down.

Which device database does browsermap use for device capabilities? Does it have any database of its own as WURFL, ApacheDeviceMap have?
