Which way is the easy one to get a link reference when filling out the project settings?

Are you referring to the "Link Reference" option? If so, you make that up. The common practice is to use the "reverse DNS" format: com.company.application. For example, Adobe Inspire might use com.adobe.inspire. Let us know if that's not what you're referring to.
