Working with localisation on website and mobile in APAC by Victor Leung Abstract First of all, why do we have this blog post? What is the question that we’re trying to answer here? The topic was raised by my colleague in the UK, she asked me specifically about the localisation, toolings, and insights into big ‘NOs’ or ‘YESes’ in the Asia-Pacific region. So I am trying to answer the question and talk about frontend localisation, since my company have expanded to many places now in APAC, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam etc. Most likely, you will encounter the weird word “i18n” when you work in front end development. If you wonder what the 18 stands for? It’s not 18 different languages. Instead, it is just the number of letters between first i and last n of the word internationalization. Before we start, just a quick introduction about myself. I was working in a bank as a technical lead, and I am writing about my past life in banking, which is full of acronyms. You would realise every

Offline Content Migration in AEM using oak-upgrade by Bhavani Ikkurthi Abstract Content migration between any 2 Adobe Experience Manager(AEM) instances presents its own challenges, in some cases those are compounded by the method. In this post, I present a way to tackle content migration in offline mode using oak-upgrade. oak-upgrade module has been traditionally used to upgrade from JCR 2.0 to the Oak node store. With the newest AEM platforms shipping with the oak repository, it has found its calling in migrating content between them — sidegrade. oak-upgrade is a Swiss army knife for copying content between virtually any repositories. Below is a minimalistic rundown of the steps involved in migrating content between 2 repositories using oak-upgrade. SETUP Both source and destination oak repositories are the same version. This is typically the case when both source and destination AEM instances are the same version. The oak repository version can be looked up at a few places. /crx/

hi All, Did anyone try to apply Cloud User Group (CUG) when working with GraphQL API?Any experience can be shared?

Since launching our sites a year ago, we have suffered constant issues with calling APIs and 3rd parties from servlets.  This includes GOAWAY being randomly received, to invalid headers being appended and different Envs having different java http request characteristics with the same code. Is there any way to find out what version of Java is running on a particular env?  There doesn't seem to be anything in cloud manager or dev console.  We have seen for example that openjdk 11.0.14 has some issues with http2 for example.

Hi Team, We are using custom workflow for some data processing and have used Thread.sleep(10000) in some method waiting. We are Catching the InterruptedException and along with logging it we are calling Thread.currentThread().interrupt(); As per cloud manager code scan, it comes up as vulnerabilities. Is there any possible way to handle this. Thanks,Volga@shardendu_jha

client has multiple repositories that need to be pushed to adobe cloud manager repo on git changes in specific branches like dev, release, master and trying to achieve this using Jenkins job.  what are the steps to be done. I tried creating the jenkins job using the credentials(with username and password) but adobe cloud manager repo couldn't be accessed in jenkins. What is the best way to auto synch this scenario. should we create any script and keep it in the git repo and have the jenkins job to read it from there. what kind of authentication credentials we need.

Why Do I Need Run and Operate When I Have AEM As A Cloud Service? by Kimberly Melton Abstract For many businesses that are using AEM as a Cloud Service to host their website, investing in a Run and Operate agreement may seem unnecessary or redundant — after all, AEM as a Cloud Service is responsible for hosting the platform, so you shouldn’t need any support, right? This may seem like a reasonable position, however, there are other variables that you should consider before ruling out a Run and Operate contract entirely. For the sake of this article, we’ll be discussing Run and Operate in terms of what we provide at Hoodoo; however, there are other Run and Operate offerings in the market that may provide other services or support levels than what will be discussed here. The first variable that you should consider for your system is that a Run and Operate service comes with 24–7 site monitoring. While AEM as a Cloud Service is responsible for the Cloud Service as a whole, they are not

Adobe App Builder — The Power of Scaling at Your Fingertips by Kelvin Xu Abstract Built on top of Adobe I/O Runtime, App Builder provides a unified development framework for extending and customizing Adobe solutions without worrying about the physical infrastructures. I/O Runtime, which is Adobe’s serverless compute platform, helps developers to scale quickly by providing auto-scaling features. But on the other hand, it doesn’t necessarily mean you can throw everything at it all at once and hope it will magically work out for you. So let’s take a little closer look at how it should be efficiently leveraged. First, let’s step back with some basics. When talking about scalability, a common use case coming into mind is batch processing such as processing assets, and documents in the hundreds or thousands. With a simplified example, let’s say you have 10 assets and 1 VM, you probably can do something like this Read Full Blog Adobe App Builder — The Power of Scaling at Your Fingertips Q&a

Develop a component with Style System in AEM by Vishang Abstract Creating a heading component with style system Creating a heading component from title component. Create a component called heading inside /apps/your-project-flder/components/content/~create component create heading.html ${headingObject.title} create heading.js "use strict"; use(function() { var titleByAuthor = granite.resource.properties["titleProperty"]; var jcrtitle = currentPage.title; var pageName = currentPage.name; var title = titleByAuthor || jcrtitle || pageName; return { title:title }; }); Next thing we need is the dialog boxes. So copy cq:dialog and cq:design_dialog from title component. Now in order to have style tab. Copy styletab node from any core component and paste it inside items node in cq:design_dialog Add a styles in your clientlib-components folder. As a user of Adobe Experience Manager, is your company/brand using the PDF Viewer core component on a public-facing website?  If yes, can you share examples of where you've been using it successfully?Any feedback (anecdotal is fine!) from your internal business partners or your external clients on how it is working?  I am curious to see examples of this component being used in the wild.

Use Cases and Tips for Contextual Content Variables (CCVAR) from ACS AEM Commons by Patrick Eccles Abstract WHAT ARE CONTEXTUAL CONTENT VARIABLES? When you're digging into the open-source toolkit, ACS AEM Commons, you’re going to find something for nearly every Adobe Experience Manager implementation. There are so many features, old and new, that it’s hard to keep track or even identify exactly what you’re looking for! One of the tremendously helpful tools on ACS AEM Commons is Contextual Content Variables (CCVAR). This tool was added in version 5.0.5 and provides a simple service that enables content authoring with variable information. Or, as ACS Commons describes CCVARs: “Contextual Content Variables is a tool built to enable authors to use content variables directly in their authored text. The tool replaces variables present in the content (either JSON or HTML) on the server-side at render-time, keeping caching enabled for the site and decreasing any impact on performance.” Let’
