How to set user permissions on all nodes under a path?

I need to update permissions for a certain path for a user group, however the /useradmin tool is not applying the permissions to the child items under that path. How can I update permissions on an entire directory including all its child items at the same time?

Hi,

If you set permission on parents node by default all the child nodes get the same permission.

The reason why child node permission is not reflecting, because of other group permission, other groups might have deny rules.
