Hide a column in siteadmin

Hi ,

I want to hide some columns in siteadmin based on some condition. I tried writing listers for it, beforerender/beforeshow to hide the column in siteadmin.js but it does not seem to work. The xtype of the column is gridcolumn.

If anyone has any suggestions about the kind of approach that can be implemented, please let me know.
