What could be difference between etc/designs and etc/clientlib

I have created clientlib for every component along with it. Now why do we have a separate folder under etc for clientlibs.

Also etc/design again consists of clientlibs. what can be the strategy behind this?

I followed this link, to create a design under Siteadmin - > Tools - >design and end up into a screen which simply says currently not editable. So now how can i add images/css/javascript to it

Sorry..

All the AEM client libraries like angular, foundation, mobile etc which is used to build the platfrom will be under etc/clientlibs

All the client libraries for the projects (not for the platform) like geometrixx, 'custom project' will be under etc/design

Under Siteadmin -> tools -> design, Goto a specific folder , then click on 'New  -> New File' to add images, js etc or a New Folder to create a new clientlibrary folder.

Under Siteadmin -> tools -> design i created a page with design page template. I could not create any file under it. Those options are disabled.

I do not understand you said both platform and not for platform will be under etc/clientlibs. Can you please clarify it?
