Custom Browse page (collection page)

Hi,

I am building an app that is potentially going to contain a large amount of articles for every collection.

As far as I understand, there is no SDK available for DPS 2015 at the moment: I was wondering if there is any way to customize Collection pages (I believe they are called Browse Page, the page that renders all the articles of a collection). Ideally, I would like to print out all the articles for a collection in a html page and create a search box for dynamic filtering in javascript. Or, is there a search feature somewhere I am not aware of?

Hi Lorenzo,

We do not support HTML customization of browse pages right now. What kind of collection are you building where there are so many articles? Perhaps there's another way to structure your content.

thanks for your quick response

The idea is to have collections as product categories, and articles as user manuals for every category of products. There might be categories with over 100 manuals, so I think it would't be optimal for users to go through long lists without a search function.

To be honest, 100 items in a browse page isn’t that bad. I agree search would help a lot, and it’s something we’re considering adding, but unlike in the current DPS product we’ve invested heavily in making sure browse pages perform well with many, many, many, items. Your readers will easily be able to scroll a list of 100 items quickly and smoothly.

One idea to help reduce the size, if you want, is to further subdivide the product categories into smaller groups. Maybe by letter, or year of release, or some other characteristic of the products in that category.
