Content finder partial string search

We seem to not get partial matches in our content finder image search.  This seems odd and I hope there is a quick fix. 

If an image has a filename or title such as:  Sample_Image123.  Entering "Samp" or "Sampl" or any substring as the search query does not return the asset.  

This is driving our authors nuts.

Version: AEM 5.6.1 latest SP

As far as I know, it doesnt do partial search. Please reach out to support team if they have any fix for the same !

else, you might have to extend the existing search and customize the same as it uses lucene behind
