AEM link to Adobe Bridge

Hi,

 

I accidentally found a youtube video where this person explains how AEM DAM can be connected to the Bridge using AEM Desktop tool. Seems like the tool is no longer available and has since been replaced by the Adobe Asset Link. 

I did my reading and found out that the link between Bridge and AEM DAM is no longer available... how disappointing... 

 

Was AEM Desktop Tool the only way AEM DAM linked with Bridge? Is this feature still available using a different title perhaps? I work with 6.5 onprem AEM DAM and think that the process of image and metadata management would be greatly simplified in my case if there was a link mentioned earlier.

Hi,

To streamline asset workflows with AEM DAM, there are a few options available. One option is to use AEM Desktop App v2, it still supports drag-and-drop functionality, as well as open/edit workflows for assets, and can be installed on your machine to interact with AEM DAM as a file source. However, it no longer provides the generic file system mounting that Adobe Bridge relied on. Another approach could be through Creative Cloud apps, Adobe Asset Link offers direct integration with tools like InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. This requires AEM as a Cloud Service or AEM 6.5+ with specific configurations, and for on-prem environments, it may need a connector provided through the Asset Link Support Package. Lastly, some organisations choose to build custom integrations with Adobe Bridge by scripting or developing custom panels that interact with AEM via RESTful APIs. While not supported out-of-the-box, this approach is technically feasible with the right development resources.
