Hello Community users/Advisors/experts,

I an reading through adobe aem cloud documentation on AEM asset selection with  micro frontend features..

I have two aem instances, one enterprise aem dam and another aem sites instance, and we store all asset related metadata like tags and alttext within assets,

usecase: fetch these values at runtime dynamically In my aem sites components, I want to use this asset selector feature to pick asset, how to get latest alttext everytime I change my alttext in my enterprise dam assets cloud instance?

Hi,

I think you are exploring the right way, you could try to use something like this: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/experience-manager-cloud-service/content/assets/manage/asset-selector#adobe-app-integration-vanilla in a custom widget that then is plugged in into your aem component: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/events/experience-manager-gems-recordings/gems2015/aem-customizing-dialog-fields-in-touch-ui

Hope this helps.

I have not used Micro front end asset selector but based on the use case which you describe wouldn't Connected Asset be an easier approach to be used here ?
