AEM 6.5.5 | Not able to login

Dear Community members,

Hope you all are doing great!

I have setup a new AEM 6.5 and installed the service pack 5. Because my project has a dependency on ACS Commons, I have installed that as well(V4.8). My machine has Java 11 configured. After creating a fresh instance and installing all the packages(Service pack and ACS Commons), I'm seeing a very strange behavior. I hit http://localhost:4502/

and it takes me to http://localhost:4502/libs/granite/core/content/login.html?resource=%2F&$$login$$=%24%24login%24%24&j_reason=unknown&j_reason_code=unknown and shows a blank page. I'm not even able to go to crx/de or /system/console or any page afterwards. I checked the error.log and found this error:

Dear @surabhi_katiyar , @vijayalakshmi_s , @varun_shakya , @arunpatidar Thank you so much for your valuable inputs, I have found the root cause(apparently). I have some custom index definitions and they are inside the /oak:index content.xml. Here is how it's in my project :

When I remove my index definition <filter root="/oak:index/myCustomLuceneIndex"/>) from filter.xml, the issue doesn't happen and I see the pages load, login page opening, etc. but yeah, I see warnings in error.log(..consider creating an index).
I have created a package of my custom index definitions. I install that(explicitly, not a part of build)and manually trigger reindexing and that works.

This works fine in AEM6.4.4 but on AEM6.5.5, seems like the engine gets stuck somehow and not being able to recover at all(even after AEM restart, or system restart). Why is that? is this way not recommended? or am I doing something wrong?

open system/console/bundles and check all the bundles are active?

Did you try restarting the instance and recompiling the JSP, See if this helps

Thank you @varun_shakya. All the bundles are in active state and in AEM6.5 onwards, 'recompile JSP' has been removed. So nu luck until so far! I tried these things :
1. Restarted my instance

2. Restarted Project bundle
3. Cleared classloader(/system/console/fsclassloader)

4. Checked clientlibs-service user and it's permissions at /apps, /etc, /libs and /var/clientlibs

but nothing worked.

In AEM 6.5 Service Pack 5, a security fix has been added that you cannot login directly via crx/de or system/console. You will be redirected to login.html for the login. This has been done to ensure that only the authenticated users are able to open the crx/de or other consoles.

Regarding the issue you are facing, please check the browser console tab and look for any issue related to core.js where it says coral object not found. If yes then please restart the instance.

Thanks for your input @surabhi_katiyar. I can't find any error in console as well 😞 . I'm using service pack 5 and still getting this error. The security fix that prevents a user to login via crx/de is a real bummer! If I were able to login at least, I'd be able to see the node structure. Anyway, I'm still trying and post an update as soon as I find a root cause. Thanks, Bilal.
