AEM 6.0-MetaData properties are not available for old word files (97-2003 formats for ppt & word files etc.)

I have uploaded few old word files (97-2003 format) in dam, like word and ppt documents in AEM 6.0. But the metadata properties are not available, which restricts the searching in touch UI for these files and shows no results. Is there any way to populate these properties???
