Question

EDS Sidekick Account Not Authorized

Hi all,

We are working in a PoC over EDS but, following the aem.live tutorials and working on our sandbox (Cloud Manager) we have arrived to an issue we are not able to deal with: I created the project with my account (Cloud Manager, let’s say xxx@xxx.com) and obtained this (image attached) error:

It’s a bit strange since I have access to Google Drive. Any help?

Cheers,

DGM.-

Hi @DaniGM

The "Account not authorized for this site" message comes from Edge Delivery Services, not from Google Drive.
It means your user is not allowed as an author/publisher for that EDS site, even if you can open the docs in Drive.
Fix it like this:

  1. Add your user to the site config (most important)
    • In your EDS project config (.helix/config.xlsx or the Helix5 JSON config), add your email/domain to the author/publish roles, e.g.:
      • In .helix/config.xlsx (document-based projects):
        • Add rows like:
        • Or in Helix5 JSON: under access.admin.role add your email pattern(s) to author / publish.
        • Then publish the config so it reaches admin.hlx.page / config.aem.page
  2. Sign in again in Sidekick with the correct account
    • Open the doc in Google Drive.
    • Open Sidekick -> Sign in, choose the same Google/Adobe account that has Drive access.
    • If you still see the error, log out of Sidekick completely and log back in (this has fixed the same error for authors before).
  3. (If still blocked)
    • Ask your AEM admin to confirm:
    • Your EDS site is correctly added in Cloud Manager and
    • Your IMS user is in the product profile that has AEM as a Cloud Service with Edge Delivery Services.

Once your email is in the site's admin roles and you re-login in Sidekick, the Account not authorized error will disappear and the PoC will work as in the aem.live tutorials.
