Can I send proofs/samples from the Email Template using the New Email Editor?

Hi

I am not seeing the "Simulate Content" option in the Email Template. I can send it from the email, but is there any way to send a sample using the Email Template?

Thanks!

Hi @Jasbirka ,

No – with the New Email Editor/Designer you cannot send a proof/sample directly from the template.

How it works now:

  • Create an Email asset from the template (choose your template in the “New Email” flow).
  • In the Email, use Preview & Test -> Send Sample (and “Simulate Content” / person selection there).

Templates are purely design assets in the new editor; all proofing/simulation must be done from an email built on top of that template.

Thanks,
Amit

Hi @AmitVishwakarma

Thanks for your response. However, there is a limitation: if we need to make any changes or fix issues after testing, we will have to create a new test email everywhere after updating the template.

@Jasbirka You’re right – with the New Email Designer you cannot send samples from the template itself, only from an Email asset created from that template. Templates are just blueprints; once an email is created, it’s separate and won’t auto-update when the template changes.

To reduce rework, a practical workflow is:

  • Do all your testing and “Send Sample” from a single email asset, not from the template.
  • When you’re happy with it, save that tested email as a template and use it going forward.
  • For pieces you change often (header/footer/legal), use fragments, so you don’t need to recreate whole test emails each time.

Thanks,
Amit
