"You do not have permission to create components for this report suite" - When editing a custom metric

I'm receiving an error when attempting to edit a previously created metric (created by me).

The error says "You do not have permission to create components for this report suite" and I cannot save the metric after making changes (it's greyed out).

I have tried clearing cache/cookies and signing out an back in.

Has anyone else experienced this?
