Workspace - rolling dates / date range compare

There is an important option missing in the date rage panel.

We can select the current period but not the selected period of the workspace. So it's not possible to create dynamic comparison to the current time range users set in the workspace.

In other words we absolutely need these options:

- current day

- current week

- current month

- current quarter

- current year

- current date range

    This only covers the concept partially…. The relative to panel data range does make comparisons somewhat relative, but doesn’t allow for “changing” range lengths..

     

    Example: I had a release on Aug 2… I want to see the before and after of that release on a rolling scale.

    I create a date range of “Fixed Aug 3” to “Yesterday” (today that would be 7 days)

    My comparison period would be “Today -15 days [or July 26] to “Fixed Aug 1”

    (I am not including Aug 2 as it is mixed between the before and after).

     

    Even if I used “Aug 3” as my panel with “relative date range”… my comparison would be stuck at 7 days

     

    But tomorrow I need 8 days, the day after that I need 9 days, etc.

     

    There still is no way to get a fully rolling comparison, as there is no way to dynamically get the “number of days between Date X and Y” and use that to drive your date comparisons.

     

    I have spoken to the Adobe Product team about this, and they are looking into potential options.

      Sure, you’re right, Jennifer. Still, I’m excited that such a crucial yet simple feature was finally implemented after like 10 years!

      Maybe in another 10, it’ll work as expected. 😁
