What is the purpose id_sync_ttl in Direct Integration of Experience Cloud Identity Service?

I am exploring server side Adobe Analytics tracking for a client. In the documentation Direct integration with the Experience Cloud Identity Service, the response would contain id_sync_ttl with a value equivalent of 7 days. What is the purpose of this value? Do I need ping the endpoint with the d_mid set every 7 days?
