Sending an eVar after page load

I am running some software on my site that has a SessionId available shortly after the page has loaded, however Adobe Analytics fires before this. Currently there is an integration in place but it seems that it cause my bounce rate to be modified because it uses the s.tl() function to send that eVar to Adobe. Is there a way I can post a new eVar to Adobe, after the page has loaded without it affecting my bounce rate?

Try create a calculated metric where you say "Single Page Visits / Entries" - that should help you... Too long time since I've been digging into that part (https://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/kb/en_US/analytics/kb/comparing-bounces-and-single-access.html)

Hi,

According to https://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/en_US/reference/metrics_bounce_rate.html bounce rate won't be affected, if you send in link tracking (s.tl()-function)

That's true, however my bounce rate has dropped. The linked article says: 

  • Bounces are defined as the number of visits to your site that contain a single image request. Custom links are included, meaning if a visit consists of a page view and a custom link, that visit is not considered a bounce.

This seems to validate that using a link means it does not get considered a bounce. I guess perhaps its not viable. Not to worry
