s_vi cookie and s_fid cookie are not being set

Hello,

On our test environment they made changes regarding cookies. Now I see that the s_vi cookie which is being set on production is not being set on the test environment. According to the information I could find in that case the sfid cookie should be set, but I dont see that cookie either. I do see that information is send to adobe analytics as usual. 

Can anyone explains how this happens and what the consequences are?

We are using: SiteCatalyst code version: H.24.2.
