Internal referring page (page name or page path) via processing rules

I'm trying to get the internal referring page name or page path into an eVar via processing rules but haven't had any luck so I was hoping someone here might have come up with a clever solution for this.

For example, if the referring page is www.mysite.com/results?color=black&price=20-30 and the page name for that page is Search Results I'd like to populate an eVar, via processing rules so i don't need to get IT involved, with either www.mysite.com/results or Search Results. 

I tried creating a processing rule using referring domain but that only gives me www.mysite.com and I can't find an option for referring path. 

Is there a creative way around this or do i need to get the IT team to implement this?

Hi Frank

You may be able to build the condition by referring to Referring Domain, Referring Query String  or Referring Query String Parameter and populate your eVar. I don't think "Page Name" of the referring URL will be available in Processing rules.

Frank,

Try using Page URL parameter instead of Referring Domain

In the Processing rules screen

Add a condition

if "Page URL" equals or contains "your unique path". 

Add success action 

Overwrite value of "eVAR" with Custom Value (select custom value in the drop down) and provide your value.

Add else condition action if required.

Thanks for your help.

If I use Page URL won't this give me the current page URL and not the previous page URL?

Also, is there a way to dynamically set my unique path (i.e. exclude all query parameters)?
