In Adobe Analytics Workspace, can "Compare Time Periods" Dynamically Update When the Workspace Date Range Changes?

I have a table that includes the Unique Visitors metric, and I use the Compare Time Periods feature to add a comparison column (for example, comparing the current period to the same period last year).

However, when I change the workspace date range from July 2026 to June 2026, the primary Unique Visitors column updates with June 2026 data automatically, but the comparison column does not. It continues to display values for July 2025 rather than updating to June 2025.

Is there a way to configure the comparison period so that it dynamically updates based on the workspace date range selection (e.g., always comparing the selected date range to the corresponding period from the previous year)?

This is sort of possible. When selecting the date ranges in your panel there is an advanced option for make date ranges relative to panel time period. If you select this, then any relative time period columns in your table will become relative to the panel date range.

So if you compare to "last week", then select a different week in your panel, that column will update to be based on the the last week before that time period.

Now one thing to keep in mind, while it changes which dates are selected it doesn't change the length of the time period. If you're looking at last week, and then change your panel date range to include 2 weeks, the comparison time period will still only be one week.

This is exciting, thank you for sharing. How exactly do I make date ranges relative to the panel time period? I’m not seeing that as an option when I go to use compare time period:

So the relative date range is a setting in the panel calendar.

Set your main panel date range, click advanced settings, and you should see the option there. When you select that checkbox, all time periods in your tables will become relative to the panel date range.
