How to track clicks to SiteCatalyst when social media buttons are clicked?

Is there a way to ”easily” track clicks for Social Media buttons, for example Facebook’s ”like” button and Google’s ”G+” button? I would like to launch eventX every time someone clicks those buttons and maybe same time I would like to save to an eVar which service it was like “facebook”. Those buttons are in iframe so maybe the normal click event won’t work? Although I haven’t tested it yet. =)

Does anyone have any experience on this or links to resources where to look answers? Thanks for all the help.
