How to interpret inter-dimensional flows?

Hi everyone,

I have been playing with a flow visualisation in Workspace experimenting with multi-dimensions. Can anyone explain how to interpret the following?

When a flow is built on a single dimension, the 3rd column (purchase: step 2) indicates 56496. However, after adding another dimension (browser type) to the right the number the same column (purchase: step 2) indicates 313106. How should this be interpreted?

Single dimension:

Two dimensions:

It would be the next hit.

313106 represents the number of hits that went from purchase step 1 to purchase step 2. The 190K number under google represents the number of hits that went from purchase step 2 to having google as a browser type.

If you're familiar with raw data, you're basically switching columns on subsequent hits. For example:

Hit 1: Browser A, Page X

Hit 2: Browser A, Page Y

Hit 3: Browser A, Page Z

If you created a multi-dimension flow, you could hop between the browser dimension and page dimension. You'd still only have 3 steps in this visit, though.

Gigazelle, it's not clear. Is the 4th column (browser type) the next hit or a characteristic of the hit shown in the 3rd column (purchase: step2)? What does the number 313106 stand for?

Gigazelle, how is that possible considering that the Flow chart with a single dimension shows only 55496 hits that went from purchase step 1 to purchase step 2 ?

It looks like adding another dimension to the Flow chart inflates the number of hits...
