Extend Sub-hit analysis to more variable types

Adobe recently announced Sub-Hit analysis for Adobe Analytics. However, this feature will be limited to the Products variable, according to the documentation.

Since many customers are using List Vars and List Props, support for Sub-Hit analysis for these dimension types is needed. Please extend this feature to those dimension types.

When I talked to the product team about this (I was part of the “hack demo” for them to understand how users might use this feature), we talked about Lists as well… I believe they will be looking into this, but started with Products as the “big intro”.
I will check and see if this is still the case

I second Jen’s comment. I remember the discussion of list vars during the beta testing of this. I think the product string has more use cases, but I can see the value in expanding this as well.

I’d also like to add merchandising evars to this list--they need to “stick” to a product to populate anyway, and it would be really nice to be able to segment using these evars scoped at the product level too!

Hey @stephjo I have some good news for you! You can absolutely use your Merch eVars…

However, the display is a little odd 😉

When you chose Product Scope (at either the segment or at a container level), a “pre-filter" for Products is added to the component selector…. it makes it looks like you can only use 4 items:

However, you can remove that “Products” filter, and find your merch vars, and use them in your segment:

Hope this helps!

Also, I mentioned to the team working on this, that the pre-filter is a bit confusing, so hopefully we will see some improvements in the future.

Agreed @stephjo, merchandising eVars should be part of this, there are many times when I need to find my products by a shared merch eVar.

@stephjo and @Jennifer_Dungan so this is actually working for merch evars too. When you go to build a product level segment, it does auto filter your components list to the product dimension, but if you get rid of the products filter, you can use merch evars (or anything else) and it does work correctly.
