Does a Hit Segment Work on Persisted Values?

Hi All,

I'll try to explain this the best that I can. I wanted to know if I have a hit level segment for an eVar that is a part of the debugger image request, but doesn't appear in the debugger image request explicitly, if that value persisits, will it include hits of that persisted value? OR only where it is explicitly seen and set upon the first page or so?

Thanks!

Hi @skatofiabah while I try to understand your query - I felt like some more details are needed.

But as an eVar is persistent which basically means it holds its value until the variable expires, it will include all the hits of that persisted value until that variable expires.

Hi @harikrishnadevanabowina ,

Thanks for responding so quickly. What I am saying is that if the variable isn't explicitly set on subsequent hits (links, page views, etc.), if the value persists and I have a hit level segment, will it capture all those subsequent hits or just the initially loaded one to get the persisting in motion?

Hi @skatofiabah The speciality of an eVar is that you don't need to set that on the subsequent page but it persist until it expires (Expiration can be set as an Admin).

Once set: The eVar's value remains active for the specified duration.
No need for repeated setting: You don't have to set the eVar on every subsequent page to maintain its value.
Persistence: The value sticks with the visitor until it expires based on the configured settings.

Hope this is clear.
