I think most would agree that Omniture Insight (VS) has the most amazing segmentation capabilities.  However, in Insight the challenge is usually that the analyst needs to know exactly what s/he is doing to create the desired segment correctly.

 

While analyst skill will always be a factor, I think an easy-to-use Advanced Segment Builder utility for Insight (similar to the one Discover has) would help a lot more people create segments using Insight.

    This would be a GREAT!!!!! addition. The only issue would be setting the filters by individual dimensions and metrics. Insight is a fantastic tool, however part of its glory is the users ability to dimensionalize the data however they want, that being said, its very easy for an end user to make mistakes when creating filtered data.

    I see this also as a way for the segment export functionality to be taken out of the interface and into a request system for advanced deep dives.  Specifically a workflow system to simplify the job of allowing data miners to submit a job to the VS admins for approval, and proper scheduling.
