Allow Shareable Links for Adobe Analytics Workspace Templates
Problem
Adobe Analytics Workspace currently allows link sharing for projects but not for Adobe or company templates. While projects themselves can be shared through links, templates can only be shared by manually saving a copy first or asking others to locate it within the template menu. This makes it hard to promote standardized reports or guide users toward the correct starting point.
Templates are meant to make analysis easier, but without a simple method to point others to the right one, they often go unused.
Proposed Solution
Enable templates to generate shareable, permission-aware URLs, similar to existing project links. Clicking the link should open the template directly or bring the user to it in the template gallery.
Benefits
Faster Onboarding & Training
Teams can send a direct link to the exact template a new user should start from.
This reduces time spent navigating long template lists or hunting for the correct one.
Improved Consistency & Governance
Organizations often rely on standardized templates for metrics, segments, and attribution settings.
A link ensures everyone starts from the same version, improving data governance and trust.
Increased Adoption of Best Practices
Templates marketed through link sharing are far more likely to be used.
This supports:
- Data democratization
- Business‑user self‑service
- Repeatable reporting across units
Reduced Administrative Overhead
Analytics managers no longer need to send complex instructions like:
“Go to Workspace → Create New → Templates → Scroll down to the one named X.”
Instead, they can simply send a link.
Alignment with Existing Project-Sharing Behavior
Since projects already support link sharing, adding similar functionality for templates brings consistency to how assets are distributed across Adobe Analytics.
