Adobe and Segment (CDP)

Has anyone used Segment and Adobe together? We’re bringing in Segment and want to know how other organizations use the two in tandem.  Thanks.

    I haven’t myself, but I have supported someone who does… their analytics is driven by Segment, and they had to create their Adobe implementation from Segment (as in not use Launch)…. and well… the number of hoops they had to jump through, the issues that are still plaguing them, and the lack of control wasn’t something I would wish on anyone….

     

    I mean, I can’t say for sure how it would work in your setup… but bypassing a tool designed to give proper control over what and how Adobe Analytics is collected, and trying to shoehorn it into a generic system like Segment doesn’t seem wise…. 

     

    Can it be done? Probably

    Will it cause headaches and issues? Most Certainly

     

    Now, if you are just planning on running them in parallel, and not making your Adobe Analytics dependent on it… that is an entirely different thing altogether…

    ​@bjoern__koth I missed the office hours session, do you recall what specifically the question was? 

    In general, Segment provides an Adobe Analytics destination to send data into workspace. They don’t have one for CJA. The Adobe Analytics one is very old and has a lot of limitations. We’ve connected with Segment about some of them, and it sounds like there are no plans to make updates to the destination. 

    If there’s a more specific question I can try and provide some more info.
