Is there a way to move historical Data from one Report suite to Another? We want to move data from last year to a new report suite in which we have collecting data from this year February.

There is no native, front-end feature in Adobe Analytics to directly "cut and paste" historical data between report suites.

What i know Adobe Client Care (Support) cannot simply copy or move hit-level historical data between two existing report suites.

You need to seek help of Adobe Engineering Services (a paid consulting engagement). Where raw data will be extracted and they will bill you for server calls.

Yes! Adobe can do that for you but I guess this would be a paid engagment

I don’t know if there is an official way to migrate data… I mean, you could probably get raw data exports or use the API to get your data, then use the API to import the historical data… this could get expensive though…  as I believe every row of inserted data will cost you server calls.

You could inquire if Client Care can offer some sort of migration?

When we’ve moved reporting suites in the past, we didn’t bother to migrate data.. it had some challenges with our MOM and YOY and Trending Reports, and some reports we ended up using Report Builder to pull data from the two suites and combine them for comparisons…  the longer we were in the new suite the less the impacts were until we were fully comparing within the same suite…

I know this may not be an ideal solution, but trying to migrate data can also be problematic if the dimension and metric setup doesn’t match exactly… there’s a lot of effort involved in re-mapping every piece of info….

I am not sure it’s worth it…

Hi @Kshg7030 , I’m not aware of there being a straightforward way to migrate data from one Adobe Analytics report suite to another one.

Historical data can't be moved from one report suite to another.

We're in a similar situation where we've switched report suites (and implementation metods) for one of our sites. From what we've seen there's the data insertion API and the bulk data insertion API. I haven't looked too much into these so I not sure what the costs are associated with them or the details on how they work.

If you have the data feeds extracted from your old report suite, you might be able to format that data to use with the insertion APIs.

What were likely going to be doing is using data sources. It doesn't include general visit metrics, but you can add data for specific components, so it wouldn't be as comprehensive as the data insertion, but depending on what you have and what you need, it might be an option.
