Adobe Analytics Classification Template

Hi all, 

 

my question regards the limit about using the hyphen (-) in the classification data files.

we will be using this file to import additional attributes in Analytics.

Is it correct that in every data with an hyphen (e.g. times-square) this character will be evalueted as a minus operator? is there a way to escape it?

I don't think I've heard of that limitation with the hyphen character being treated as a minus. You might be thinking of Numeric classifications, but those have been deprecated by Adobe Analytics already. See https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/analytics/components/classifications/c-classifications.html?lang=en.

In general, all values in classifications -- both the keys and the mapped values -- are treated as text strings. So even if you have "10-4" as the key, Adobe Analytics will treat it as the string "10-4" instead of the number 6.
