Add an additional column on backend to capture truncated query string characters

If a necessary query string parameter has the bad luck to appear past the 255th character, you're out of luck. My understanding is that the 255 limit is deeply entwined with storage and processing and can't be increased. Could Adobe simply add additional 255 character columns for the truncated data? Then paid search detection, market channel processing rules, etc. would still find the necessary parameters.
