Ability to mass merge or mass delete tags without needing to view Workspaces

Description

I would like the ability for Adobe Analytics admins to mass merge or mass delete Workspace tags and component tags without needing to view the affected Workspace dashboards or affected components themselves. There should also be an ability for us to rename tags so they are either all capitalized the same way - e.g., Sentence case, Title Case, or lowercase. At the moment, people at my company are able to create tags on their own, which means that if there are typos to a tag, or if there are duplicates, we need to go into each Workspace dashboard or each component itself for us to correct it. It makes it very difficult to find the Workspace dashboard we need. Tags then become an unused feature for us on Adobe Analytics, and we just end up using the search bar, which is not always effective. I have attached some screenshots to help visualize the problem.

Why is this feature important to you

To make it easier for users to search for the Workspace they need without needing to rely on the Workspace listing search bar, which is not always effective, because it pulls up a large number of Workspaces (including drafts, finalized copies, and QA test boards).

How would you like the feature to work

There should be a feature accessible to all admins or people with admin permissions where we can easily mass merge or mass delete Workspace tags (for both the dashboards and the components) without needing to click to adjust each one manually.

Current Behaviour

Currently, for us to delete and merge tags, we need to slowly go through each tag, mass select the dashboards or components, remove the unneeded tag, and redo this entire process until there is only one tag left. This is incredibly tedious. We are also not able to edit tag capitalizations at all.

Adobe had a "Tag Manager" in the labs a while ago, and as a first step it was decent... it had a few issues... I expect that they are still working on sorting out the issues, but I agree, a tag manager is really needed.

Piling on here.  100% yes.  They definitely had something in labs they were testing, and everyone got so wrapped around the axle just because of the name "Tag Manager" that they took it back to the drawing board.  Honestly, they called it that because you could manage the #Tags in Adobe Analytics, people.  Get over it and move on so we can manage the #tags.  LOL!

Anyway, yes, let's keep socializing this as much as possible.  I know there are similar ideas out there like this. so @alyssamcgruder, if you are aware of more/similar items we can consolidate this with, we would very much appreciate the assistance in accruing more votes, please for visibility.
Thanks!

Hahah @jeff_bloomer; yes, despite the "name issues" (we all know Adobe will likely renaming it after it's in production anyway); and a few minor usability gripes, it was still something... and boy do we need it!

Hello @jeff_bloomer and/or @AlyssaMcGruder - I am wondering if there has been any updates on this feature request?

@WendyKaie I would love to see this feature become a reality.  The Adobe Champions have begun a new class this year, so perhaps their new product liaison may be able to make more headway than others in the past.  I have talked to Adobe about this for a long time - MUCH longer than this post originally says, because it was carried over from the old version of Experience League.  But yes, this is a feature that would make things easier for all of us, whether we are using AA or CJA - PLUS, I even demonstrated during Rock Stars how #tags can be even more useful.  However, until Adobe can help us out, we can’t use them nearly as well as other components in their toolbox.

I’ve been asking for this for years :) Tags should be treated as a component like segments, calculated metrics, date ranges, etc - that way admins can manage them more easily and do everything outlined in this post. Like Jen mentioned, this was available in Labs a couple years back - and then we never saw the feature go live. Such a pity.

Also, it would be really helpful to be able to use tags in places like user management in the analytics admin console. For example, to be able to go into a user account, and transfer assets by using Tags. Tags cannot be used there now so it’s a large mess to transfer assets over to another user when someone leaves the company or changes roles.
