Hello,We would like to track assets activity. Basically on the author instance (only the author) we would like to track the editors activity. The kind of information we would like to collect is:Editor who performed an action.Item that was affected by the action. The type of operation (creation, edition, view, replace, delete, download, publish to twitter, publish to facebook.. )Activity dateThat information is going to be exploited by the author instance itself. For example, it could be showed wh...

Hello,This discussion is more related to stats on workflows. Actually I'm not interested on the ones that are currently running but on the past activity. The kind of queries I would like to answer are:Which are the content path with more workflow activity during the last month?Which workflows were triggered under path X between January and April? Which are the most widely used workflows?etc. On the other hand, just comment that in our production environment every asset can be modified dozens of t...

Hello,Is there any way to get all the workflow instances launched for a payload (e.g. /content/dam/assets/weddingPictures/party1.jpg).The two only methods that I can guess are:Invoke http://localhost:4502/etc/workflow/instances.json and iterate for every instance and make a new request in order to get the payload. Then filter all the instances that were not launched under ...party1.jpg. I have tested it, but it does not work as we get the next message: The query read or traversed more than 3000 ...

Every asset lock-unlock operation leaves an active session

Hello,After checking that in our PRO AEM environment the active sessions number is increasing over the time, we have performed a small test. Basically, from an external application we are modifying the content and every modification is performed between a lock-unlock block. Surprisingly, every lock operation creates a new active session that is not released neither after unlocking nor after logging out. We track the number of active sessions using the AEM monitory tool (http://localhost:4502/lib...

Thanks for your answer. Yes, we will open a ticket. Although the gem session is an outstanding reference it does not mention facets at all.Regards.

Automatic creation of facets node under index nodes

Hello, On our integration testing environment we suddenly have checked out that every time we create a lucene index under oak:index a new node (facets) is created within it,:oak:index|_ my_index |_aggregates |_indexRules (property index don't have defined the facet parameter) |_facets (that node is automatically created)Moreover every time we delete that node it appears again after a couple of seconds. Keeping in mind that we are not using facets on our queries we would like to remove it (foreve...

Hello, Thanks for your answer. I think, that using the second approach can be more suitable in our situation, as different teams work on different workflows and they evolve independently. Regards.

Workflow Orchestration

Hello,¿Is there something to coordinate different workflows? For example, imagine that we have different workflows and I want to execute them sequentially:wf1 updates asset metadatawf2 publish videos to youtubewf3 tweets a couple of messages and posts in facebook in order to promote the published videoThe idea behind is to reuse workflows as building blocks, instead of reusing only steps. Thus if I need to create a new workflow that consists of:wf1 updates asset metadatawf2 publish videos to yout...

Hello,I've checked that using entryCount=VeryBigNumberHere does not work, as the indexPlanner uses the smaller value between entryCount and the number of documents within the index. Regards.

I aggre with you MC Stuff,We finally made native queries work. It took us more than expected because there was a misunderstanding on how they work. Currently the index cost is calculated based on the next formula cost = costPerExecution + (costPerEntry*entryCount). Thus native queries (e.g. /jrc:root/content/dam//element(*,dam:Asset)[rep:native('myIndex',...) don't force the selection of myIndex but tweak the cost formula setting the entryCount to 1 (i.e. cost('myIndex') = costPerExecution + (co...

Many thanks for the answer. The main drawback for that solution is that TeamA and TeamB don't need the same index fields. Moreover, TeamB index definition contains a list of excluded paths. Merging both indexes in one penalizes TeamB as:The reindex process takes longer. The index management is more difficult as any modification need to be agreed by both teams. The index size grows penalizing both teams. Not sure if within AEM we can have 2 lucene fields comming from the same metadata field. For exam...

Hello,Thanks for the answer. Sure, that document is my bedtime book 🙂 and according to it: "1. Q: For precise index selection is it advised always use native query? * A: if you can't manage to have the query engine select a specific index based on cost tweaks (recommended way), native query is your only alternative". That statement was more than a year ago, so I was expecting a better way to solve the index collision. Anyway, I will keep working on make native queries work.Regards.

Hello,I'm currently working with AEM 6.2 and I would like to know if I can select (deliberately) a lucene index to perform different queries. For example, imagine 2 different teams working on these paths:TeamA works on /content/dam/stuff and defined an index named TAIndexTeamB works on /content/dam/stuff/tbStuff and defined its own index named TBIndexDepending on the index cost, path restrictions, filters... TeamA could be performing queries against TBIndex and thus getting an invalid response. ...
