that's one of the issues they are facing. As outlined - longer term they will be moving to HTML based form - but short term they would like to replicate what they had with ES4 JEEIn addition - some post processing depends on the AcroForm field content of the PDF - obviously with a dynamic XFA based PDF there are no AcroForm fields.

the customer was using ES4 and moved to AEM Forms. As they manage the XDP in the repo and they wanted to avoid the complexity of JEE they are looking to use AEM Forms OSGI only but initially are looking to get the same rendered result as they don't want to change their customers experience initially.Longer term they are looking to move to Adaptive Forms.

Yes, but a static interactive PDF i.e. one that - in addition to the XFA content - has an AcroForm representation. FormsService doesn't offer that but the Render Service in JEE as an option to do so. It's the same as saving to Static PDF or Dynamic PDF from AEM Forms Designer

Thanks for the feedback - but we need to render an interactive form instead of a flat PDF. From that - and as I havn't found any better answer I'll accept the one from workflowuser

Using FormsService on AEM forms OSGI I can render an XDP to a dynamic PDF Form. But is it also possible to generate a static PDF Form similar to the renderPDFForm operation with AEM Forms JEE?Couldn't find any option to do so.

I tried both - adding the user in /adminui as well as /lc/useradmin using different user names between both to make sure that they don't inherit./adminui: I can log in with that user but can't choose the groups you are mentioning/lc/useradmin: I can choose the groups but am unable to login.BTW. we are on 6.4.2

Thanks for the hint. Unfortunately I had no success with these settings. Could it be that running on JEE makes a difference as I'm struggling to add users using the ./lc based UI versus ./adminui. Uisng ./lc I can create a user but am unable to login using that user. Creating the user using /adminui works fine and I can log on.

Hi,we are looking to allow forms testers read only access to Adaptive Forms on an author instance but struggling to get the correct settings. Either we have no access, missing content or too many capabilities such as being able to edit the form. What we tried so far is setting up a special group forms-testers with similar capabilities forms-users would have on a publish instance. Unfortunately that doesn't work. Being logged in as admin and impersonating into a user being a member of the group ev...

There is no specific use case other than all access to SAP resources is password protected so in order to get the WSDL an authentication is neccesary which is the same as authenticating for the call itself. BTW. the customer is trying to migrate PDF forms to Adapative Forms. Defining the Webservice in AEM Forms Designer works just fine.

Hi,we've updated to 6.4.1 and the Authentication dialog is available now. Unfortunately it seems that the authentication is only used for the call itself but not when requesting the WSDL - is that correct? Accessing the WSDL also needs an authentication (trying to access a SAP system) at the customers site. With kind regardsMaruan

Thank you both for the information and your support. Would you have a tentative schedule for 6.4.1?- I can confirm that the issue is for SOAP only. Choosing REST the fields to enter the credential are there- I tried replicate the same setting for 6.4 as one can enter using the 6.3 GUI using CRX explorer but that didn't work. I might have missed something. The workaround I put in place was doing an AEM orchestration process using workbench to do an authenticated call to the SOAP web service and do...

Hi,when trying to configure a SOAP Web Service as a data source in AEM Forms 6.4 it's not possible to enter the authentication data although it's possible to select the authentication type i.e. there are no forms fields to enter the authentication information. For the particular case we were selecting Basic Authentication. In 6.3 one was presented with form fields to enter the data.Am I missing something?AEM Forms 6.4 JEE on Windows Server 2016 IE 11BRMaruan

Thank you for the hint. That's the development & test server where we do have a forms and a processing instance i.e. only author is deployed on the forms instance. It's about giving testers access to test the forms. Publish wouldn't have that issue as there is no authentication needed.

I can't answer that question directly but all the upgrades I did for customers was by doing a fresh install of AEM 6.3 (or earlier) and then we simply imported the applications we had by exporting the .lca on the ES4 side and imported them into AEM. Maybe worth trying.BRMaruan

Mhmm - looks like you are mixing some things up.When you use AEM Forms JEE you don't need and shouldn't use cry-qucikstart, as this is the OSGI version of CRX. AEM Forms JEE already includes that. Also don't copy the repository, it will be created upon initial startup of the server. So you need to deploy- adobe-livecycle-jboss.ear- adobe-livecycle-native-jboss-.ear- publish.earAlso make sure that the configurations are not conflicting with your initial copy of AEM Forms e.g. use a different datab...

Hi James, yes, we tried that too and the user shows up - but the login fails with an error message "User Name / Password" don't match, although the information entered is correct. We even added the user to the administrator group and looking at the permissions tab in useradmin he has full control. Please note that we are running AEM Forms JEE, so the docs for adding a user is by going through /adminui. What struggles me is that we do see content repository oriented roles like forms-user which you ...

Are you runningstandalone.bat -Djboss.socket.binding.port-offset=110from the command prompt? If yes, there should be a console output as well as log output in /standalone(log/server.log. That works just fine. Now to an important topic. You wrote that you copied the installed/running version. Don't do this! You need to do a fresh install on the second JBoss instance as otherwise the Database, Temp directory ... is shared which will cause you issues at least remove the adobe*.ear/war files from the...

I looked into adding a custom cloud service and think I understood what you are talking about. Will be interested to look at your blog post as soon as this is available. Would it also be possible using a Form Data Model to change the (SOAP) URL from Dev to Production? We are already looking into using Form Data Models as a kind of integration layer.

Hi Jaghjeet, maybe it didn't get across. On the Dev & Test AEM Forms server we'd like to call the Dev & Test processing server. After publishing we'd like to call the Prod processing server from the Prod AEM Forms server. If we define a cloud service wouldn't the service address be the same on both instances of AEM Forms?Kind regardsMaruan

These processes are accessed from within Adaptive Forms using SOAP. Now when we go from development and testing to production we would like to call the services on the production (processing) instance. Hi James, thanks for taking the effort and also providing a workaround solution. What we ended up with is to remove the binding on the field and pass the selected information in another field. Moving forward we'll go with schema binding anyway. Many thanks also to Scott and Jagjeet for looking into that. With kind regardsMaruan

Btw. this is a very simple Options Expression I used for testing. Other events show the same behaviour.if (Anwendungsfall.value == 1) { this.items = ["A=A", "B=B", "C=C", "D=D", "E=E"];} else { this.items = ["A=A", "B=B", "C=C", "D=D", "E=E"]; }

This happens only for an XFA template based adaptive form. The DropDown list is bound to the XFA based data model. Creating an adaptive form from scratch doesn't show that behavior.
