Re: Coming Soon: Default Data Element "Default Value" Changes to Null

Hi Rob, What are the benefits of having data elements return null ? And does this mean that new data elements that don't set a default value and are used by a variable in the Adobe Analytics set variables action may track as "null". Will we see the string "null" in Adobe Workspace if we don't set a default value of ""? Lastly, how does this effect tests for undefined. I've seen lots of conditional logic (for better or worse) that looks like:var utmMedium = _satellite.getVar('utm_medium'); if(typ...

This is possible today, but I guess it's not very intuitive.Create a table in Workspace.Right click on the metric header.Click 'Create metric from selection'Choose 'Open in Calculated Metric builder'.Label as 'Clicks', or whatever works best for your beginners.Click Save.Drag the new metric from the left rail to your table.Delete the original ugly metric.Optional Steps.Unfortunately this calculated metric is now cluttering up your left rail (but only to you, unless you share it), and you may onl...

I don't wish to jump to the conclusion that the tag is not well implemented. But perhaps it is being triggered on a different page, because that is the only page where User Tpe = Premium is available. Then, thanks to the persistence of eVars (and this is highly dependent on how the eVar is configured) the 'Premium' value follows you around, so that you can run a report showing the number of Premium users logged in.But like Arun said, User Type may also be set via other methods, such as Processing ...

It could be that eVar101 is set on a different page than expected. And due to how the persistance of eVars can be configured, you may see it against pages where it was not directly set.One way I have found to start working out where an eVar was set it to build a table in Adobe Workspace with custom link name or page in the left column, and the eVar instances metric, visits, and occurences along the top. (Tip, pick a short date range like Yesterday, or Last 7 days)Custom Link NameUserType (C101) ...

I believe the scenario of a Page View with subsequent Custom Link hits (such as an impression) is already handled by the Out of the Box default bounce metric. From Adobe's documentation:"Bounce Rate does not include visits where multiple actions occurred on a single page. For example, a visit with a video view on a single page is a Single Access but not a Bounce."Also, take a look at the Single Page Visits metric which can also be used the calculate bounce rate where there are additional custom ...

For example, if you are trying to categorise your URLs by product group, and they share a common structure (www.example.com/snow-gear/jackets/red-fluffy-medium.html, perhaps you could use a CONTAINS condition could for "/snow-gear/", or "/jackets"?If this isn't v...

But if your traffic is very peaky/troughy then the shaded bounds will reflect that as normal.Another option is to create a calculated metric which is an average of visits for the last 7 days.To produce a chart that should l...

Hey @Huy,Yes, it is possible by using a technique called Exit Link Tracking Redirects:Adobe currently provides a mechanism that lets you track external links by linking to Adobe data collection servers and appending a redirect URL. After the link is tracked, Adobe data collection servers return an HTTP redirect to the location provided. This lets you track links without using JavaScript. You will need to republish your PDFs though. The documentation for it can be found here: Marketing Cloud Help -...

I'm happy to have the new column wrapping feature as an option, but I would prefer if column wrapping is off by default. The main reason is that if I have a number of tables in a workspace, then I can be sure they will have a consistent height, and this makes arranging the workspace much easier when I place tables besides one another or beside a visualisation.Sometimes I will duplicate segments and metrics just to give them a shorter name so they don't get truncated! Since the February release of Adobe Analytics workspace, line charts have little circles around many data points, even when Show Anomalies has been turned off.The circles obscure the data, and make it harder for the readers to view the trend. Is there an option to turn the circles off somehow? If I hover my mouse cursor over the data table, then the circles are hidden, but this is not very user friendly.
