Re: Site Search (evar21) warrensander - Adobe Analytics
To me it looks like evar21 on your setup holds the internal search keyword. Where do you get the value for evar21 from? is it when the customer types it into the search box and you do a server call to set evar21 (or set evar21 before you do the s.t() call) ie record the internal search term on the page where it's typed or most likely on the results page (since this is much simpler). If it's on the search results page then you need a couple of things to make your internal search work correctly1) p...

Re: Segment Comparison with 'everyone else' inverse segment bug/issue warrensander - Adobe Analytics
The ticket 160919-000201 is still in 'waiting engineering' status.I have created a new segment comparison, gotten an 'everyone else' segment created during the analysis and it looks like that segment didn't make it into the cloud profile & audiences section and no new ones have shown up in audience manager so it looks like the cause has been fixed. However, we still haven't been told we can delete the duplicated 'everyone else' segments either the ones that are similar but have the same name and...

Re: Adobe Analytics Fall Release New Features info and feedback warrensander - Adobe Analytics
It looks like the 'edit' feature for segments is gone when you click the 'i' information button. No more 'pencil' shows up to edit. the only way I've found to edit a segment today is through the 'new' segment or through the segment manager. is this a bug or a new feature? This did happen about a year ago and took several months to fix. I hope it isn't that way again.

Re: Delete data in Adobe Analytics warrensander - Adobe Analytics
Julian, no have I haven't put in an idea here to allow a processing rule to delete everything. I was sort of hoping that Adobe would by themselves when they finish processing rules so that I can get to s.products etc that they would add a 'delete this server call' option. Then again, if they did it and didn't make me pay for the server call that would be even better. Or route the server call to a different report suite (ie move the bad data calls off to a 'bad data' report suite) to help with th...

Re: Delete data in Adobe Analytics warrensander - Adobe Analytics
Hi Creativebyte, you can sort of do 'forced' segments with virtual report suites since those are based on segments to begin with. and I understand being over worked and under staffed to try to fix large amounts of bad data. You should look at Data Sources because this does allow you to delete (zero out is probably a better word for it) bad data in events assuming you can actually find it. We had an issue with an underflow where an event got translated into hex FFFFFFFFF... which ended up being 4...

Re: Delete data in Adobe Analytics warrensander - Adobe Analytics
as for re-purposing the variable besides the fact that Adobe has taken eVars from 75 to 100 in the past couple of years and you can go to 250 with any of the premium solutions sometimes it's good the re-use a variable of value. One way we have found is first to make sure the variable is not used for some period of time. (we like to use a fiscal year plus 1 month so we can do year over year reports eventually)Make sure you allocate a prop to contain your S_code version which should include the Ado...

Re: What are all the reasons for not capturing/storing data in Analytics? warrensander - Adobe Analytics
does the guy have javascript turned on? is he using charles or some other proxy system to route his data and just not forward it to your metrics collection server. Are you trying to send secure data to your non-secure metrics server or visa-versa? have you gone to your metrics server and typed in /optout.html as the url to get your opt-in/opt-out capabilities:To opt-out of aggregation and analysis of data about your visit to this site, it is necessary to install a cookie on your browser. Segment Comparison with 'everyone else' inverse segment bug/issue warrensander - Adobe Analytics
I thought I'd put this here rather than a customer care ticket. I can do a ticket if you want. When we do a 'segment comparison' project in analysis workspace and don't compare two defined segments but let analysis workspace create the 'everyone else' segment which is the inverse of the segment we created a couple of odd things happen:1) the 'everyone else' segment that is created for the workspace run gets pushed to the cloud. We can see it in the cloud in the audiences section (everyone else in...

Re: Activity map - page details - Exits vs Exited Site warrensander - Adobe Analytics
No, because if you look the details on the left of the page the 'exit count' aligns with 'exited site' on the right. and from what I can tell 'exits' is just the most popular link off the page. The number is correct if you compare to the page rendering and use 'Value' in the settings to get the absolute number. Also if you download the report and go to the 'Report: Page Flow Report - Page Exits - Next Pages' section you will see that 'exits' doesn't show up but the pagename of the page that has ...

Re: Dynamic variables not passed correctly in the reports warrensander - Adobe Analytics
you could have some uuencoding issues based on different browser setups and javascript versions. We do see this sometimes but it's very small numbers so for the most part we don't worry about it since whatever you are dynamically building you have stored in a previous variable.however, you can always create a processing rule to try to see if any of those strings are there in the variable then just re-create it (or forget the dynamic variable and create it in a processing rule always)

Re: Help to Test Adobe Analytics Implementation ! warrensander - Adobe Analytics
you can use observepoint or better ask your adobe account team if they will run a scan of your site to make sure the analytics tags are correct.if you have more than just adobe tags you need to actually get an observepoint (observepoint.com) license to look at hundreds of different tags etc.but start with Adobe.

Re: Exclude internal employee traffic by VPN warrensander - Adobe Analytics
My thoughts are rather than exclude your VPN traffic from being recorded because once the data is gone it's gone for good. is to work with Adobe to setup a vista rule for those IP addresses and either send them to another report suite. we used 'ipex' for ip exclusion' in the name so we had production and production ipex. but thinking more about it and how far segmentation has come we changed our rule a couple of years ago to set a prop for internal vs external users of our web site. since our in...

Re: New Marketing Cloud UI feedback thread warrensander - Adobe Analytics
I had Adobe setup a whitelist of our external IP addresses. This helps because if your company has load balancing proxy servers and you get moved from one to another during your session your IP address changes and the cloud (specifically analytics and mobile marketing) will toss you out because your IP doesn't match the authenticated IP you had been using. Adobe currently can only whitelist for analytics and mobilemarketing but it is night and day. I've gone from getting tossed literally every 2...

Re: New Marketing Cloud UI feedback thread warrensander - Adobe Analytics
I'm not a huge fan of the new setup. But change is hard so I will adapt over time.I really dislike at least on firefox that the menu dropdowns keep staying open or open when I don't want them too because they are too close to actual locations on the analytics menu (download etc)in answer to the too many report suites. Maybe a feature in the report suite dropdown to set your own favorites to be sticky in the dropdown so I can pick some number of favorite report suites and have them appear at the ...

Re: List Variables in AppMeasurement warrensander - Adobe Analytics
when the image gets long appMeasurement code is supposed to flip over and send POST requests instead of GET requests. The debugger will show 'no requests found' in red text but if you go into developer tools on your browser and look in the network tab you will see a POST to you metrics server (instead of a GET) request for the image. You can then pull that request and uudecode it and find all the props/evarsI know I had (and still have in some instances) a list variable with several hundred entr...

Download a list of Marketing Cloud users and their meta data warrensander - Adobe Experience Cloud
There doesn't seem to be a way to download a list of the marketing cloud usernames, names, and other meta data.If I try to copy page by page and paste into excel or wordpad++ I don't get anything that is usable.I'd like a 'download' button that will provide me with a CSV file with one line per marketing cloud login and each of their product accesses set in their own column (so all the analytics and target and audience manager access by user/admin is in it's on column in the layout so I can see w...

New Analytics menu system causes FireFox to have a HUGE working set warrensander - Adobe Analytics
When the April update occurred I started to notice that as I used Firefox to run reports and open new tabs etc that Firefox's working set got larger and larger. Often to 1.5 to 2 GB of memory used. And the only thing I use Firefox for is adobe analytics. Is there some memory leak out there in the new menu system because Firefox racks up a lot of cpu time (running all the time) and memory (steadily gets larger working sent) and runs slower and slower and responds very sluggishly the longer the bro...

Re: What happens to shared metrics, dashboards, and segments when moved to a new user? warrensander - Adobe Analytics
The big issue with 'transferring' dashboards that use segments or bookmarks with segments etc is that the relationship gets broken when the transfers happen. The transferred dashboard/report doesn't get it's association with the transferred segment set so it doesn't know what segment to use. etc.overall it's not really worth 'transferring' things because you probably spend more time fixing things up than you save by doing a quick transfer. And the suggestion that you just change the password and ...

Re: Is anyone using Omnibug (Chrome Extension)? warrensander - Adobe Analytics
neither omnibug or the adobe debugger (or the observepoint tag debugger) will work to decode POST entries. Only when the image is sent via a GET is a debugger able to decode the image. This is not a issue for customers of you site since they aren't looking at this data. it's only an issue for your people looking to make sure that data is being collected correctly.

Re: Is anyone using Omnibug (Chrome Extension)? warrensander - Adobe Analytics
Is there a version of the debugger that works when there is a POST done instead of a GET? This is a HUGE issue in my shop because I get calls all the time that the analytics don't work on the pages because the debugger says there are 'no requests found' maybe if the adobe officially supported debugger said 'no GET images. Please check for POST images' or something like that but even better would be a way to either show the POST data or allow a knowledgeable user force a GET even if data is trunc...

I got the following from DTM and it looks like it isn't treated as a 'download' link.I do get 2 click events from opening the PDF file and event9 fires and data goes into evar21All I can think is that you are looking in the wrong report suite or there is something else happening that is causing issues with these server calls. Maybe look at the full evar21 value rather than the classified values. There could be issues...

Re: Can I use segment which has "then" condition in Data warehouse? warrensander - Adobe Analytics
No because the data warehouse looks at individual records to see if they met the criteria in the segment. It can't handle a record looking for one thing to happen and then another. It just finds all the records that apply to the segment and outputs them. You can sort them and attempt your own 'then' clause adaptation

Re: Is there a way to see all of Google traffic as one row, regardless of the country domain warrensander - Adobe Analytics
Then you can always do my processing rule the opposite way.continue to overwrite the referrer value but save the original value in a prop or evar called 'original referrer value' and then you have that (evar is probably better so you can breakdown the google.com by that evar to find the google country sites) (or any other rollups you use.
