Please bring this back. When users go on leave, I no longer have any way of accessing their reports. This is a huge problem.

Re: Analytics Workspace - automatically add "other" line

Let's say I have 3 mutually exclusive segments that comprize 70% of my visitors:Group 1, Group 2, Group 3 Currently, if I want to also look at the other 30%, everyone else, I make a visitor segment that excludes Group 1 OR Group 2 OR Group 3. This works for basic things, but as my groups get more complex or more numerous, making those Exclude segments gets very intensive. Then I end up with 4 segments: Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, Other. For my particular situation, I'd like to be able to just hig...

It would be awesome if we could get flexablility with the Everyone Else/Other functionality, possibly combining these two ideas http://ideas.omniture.com/t5/Idea-Exchange-for-Adobe/Analytics-Workspace-automatically-add -quot-other-quot-line/idi-p/16521

This would be amazing. I am constantly making exclusive "Other" segments, and they can become very process-intensive to build when they are comprised of other excluded segments. (A few I could only create in Ad Hoc, otherwise the Workspace Segment Builder freezes).

@JenlasserWould #1 apply to segment rows too? For #2, it would get rather tedious if we have many dimension values, but in general, manual reordering would be a decent stopgap for many of our problems. The manual reordering would need to be able to be "locked" once we set the order, because it seems like often the items get reordered if the data gets re-ranked when it is refreshed. I'm going to keep hinting until maybe it gets implemented: Can we just have a table builder in Ad Hoc? Please?

@benjamingaines the auto-save is not working at all anymore, it seems. I had to step away from my laptop while a table was querying. When I came back, it said it auto-saved (and had the completed table) but when I logged back in, the recent changes were gone.

Analysis Workspace Auto-Save Enhancement

Would love to see a true auto-save feature in Analysis Workspace like there is in Discover/Ad Hoc. I always try to save early and often, but I've lost work due to browser crashes or internet disconnections. In Discover, this was mitigated by the auto-save feature that saved even untitled/unsaved projects. There have been times when AH says it it will have saved my progress (i.e. durring a disconnection) and will load the last state after a reload, but then it is gone since the project was previo...

In a perfect world, having one read-only option that locks down the date range *and* one that allows date range modification would be great. If I had to pick, I'd go for totally locked down first, since I have multiple reports that wouldn't handle random date range changes well.

Segment Last Visit of a Visitor
Avatar

Has anyone found a way to segment the last visit (within the specified timeframe) of a visitor? My end game is to use this segment of visits to identify the last exit pages & sections for visitors during a time frame in my analysis. It's easy to get the first visit, but I haven't been able to figure out a way to segment the last visits (other than querying the Clickstream data in our internal DW). Ideally I would like to accomplish this using one of the standard Adobe Analytics tools, so I can i...

@Dan_Ellis1, you read my mind. Glad I found your post as I was making my own about this and a few other related reasons why I'd like to see the table builder from Ad Hoc make it's way to Workspace. I too have wished there was an option to order the dimension in ascending/descending value in all of the analysis tools when working with custom prop/eVar dimensions that have numeric values.

Yes. In my opinion, the updated totals are useful on their own, regardless of the impact to mean/max/min logic. Any notation would be a bonus.

I want to revitalize this idea. Making it report specific would be fantastic. At the very least, please make it project specific! We have had many a heart attack after working on one project with repeat instances turned off (for a flow), only to open a saved report and have our numbers look like they are way lower than the last time we opened it, since repeat instnaces are still turned off, even though that project was last saved with them on. This has been a big thorn for us, and it looks like ...

@benjamingaines hmm... I hadn't thought about that. Usually when I search filter results, I end up with multiple by way of a contains, in which case it would be a little odd. But it totally makes sense if you only have one result. Could there be a way to automatically notate that the min/max/mean still are based on the grand total when a search filter is applied?

Also in Ad Hoc! This has caused big issues in the past where people erroneously grab the overall total when they think they are grabbing the total of the filters.

Assuming you're not talking about a whole new page/window, and in fact a dynamic modal window that would not lend itself to adding the standard analytics code, you can just use the s.t() directly to "fire" a page view when the modal opens. We have done this many times. Let me know if you have any questions!

Occurrence Segment Container
Avatar

Any chance we can get an Occurrence segment container and a TRUE Page Views container? I find it contradictory that we can use a Page Views container and still pull custom link occurences. This goes against the concept of a Page View, considering that if you pull a custom links report with the metric Page Views, you obviously do not get any data. What we need is a Page View container that actually isolates/segments ONLY Page Views, as well as an Occurence container that segements Occurrences. Th...

Within x# of Page Views - Sequential Segmentation in Discover
Avatar

I'm very excited to have the sequential time options in the new Segment Builder within Discover, but for those of us who implement impression/occurence tracking through "Custom Link Tracking" in addition to tracking page views, this gets a little tricky and does not give us the data we need. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy there is now the "Within x# of OCCURENCES" option, but it would be great to also have the option to select "Within x# of PAGE VIEWS".
