Uninstalling the hotfixes that you have installed is a very risky thing. Especially as one of them seem to be an Oak Upgrade (1.4.5). We have seen cases in the past, where an attempted downgrade of Oak has resulted in repository scans which could take several hours depending on the size of your repository. About the issue at hand. I had a few follow up questions :-1. Did you reproduce this issue locally more than once ?2. Did you see any Warnings before the framework related errors shown in the ...

Sounds like the intention is to prevent any more publishes from going out to the world. Rather than restrict authoring, do consider restricting the publishing feature when such a freeze is in place.

Hi, After enabling SSL on a CQ author instance (refer to http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/deploying/config-ssl.html), I am noticing continuous SSL Exceptions in the error log. See Stack trace below. 23.11.2013 01:09:15.236 *WARN* [127.0.0.1 [1385168955233] ] servletengine I/O error in execution: {} javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Connection has been shutdown: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Unrecognized SSL message, plaintext connection? at sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.checkEOF(Unknown Source) at...

Not really what I am looking for. I have users who have access to create and delete stuff under foo at the moment. All I would like to enforce is that they do not delete "foo" by mistake. A user may create ten folders under "foo" tomorrow. I do not want to add more and more rep:policy nodes (for each folder) each time a folder is created (manual or scripted) as this would eventually lead to performance bottlenecksHence, logically it would make sense to get rid of the jcr:removeNode privilege on ...

One for the AEM Geeks : From the useradmin screen, when we assign a "delete" privilege to a group for a particular node (say /content/dam/foo, a folder in this case), I noticed two privileges being assigned in the rep:policy node (jcr:removeNode and jcr:removeChildNodes). Hence I tried to check out the behavior of the system when only jcr:removeChildNodes prilvilege is applied. My expectation is that the user should be able to delete the contents within the folder "foo" but not the folder itself...

In our lower environements, we would like to utilize the ContentSwitching feature provided by the load balancers to cater to multiple servers/applicationsFor e.g. VIP-URL/cqApplication should redirect to a CQ server (this fails as the CQ server does not understand the context) VIP-URL/ can perhaps be directed to another server running a different set of applications (this works fine)Is there any way to achieve this using vanity urls or something of the sort?

Hi Thanks for the reply. I am required to have a cluster of publish instances. Hence there will be only one replication agent fanning out of the authors (another cluster). Now, if I have a direct CQ instance as the replication receiver, then there is a risk in terms of the availability if that particular publish instance goes down. In this context, should I still refrain from using the dispatcher in the Target URI?RegardsJ

Is configuring the replication agent to point to the publish CQ instance using a dispatcher or load balance URL a supported configuration? When I tried the same, the asset was disappearing from the replication queue and showing status "green" against an asset. However, the content was not actually going through to the publish instance. I do not see any activity in the error log on the dispatcher side which indicates that the activate request never reached my publish instance. Please find the log ...

I am trying to find assets larger than "XX" bytes in the repository using an XPATH queryFound the equality operation to work in my xpath query/jcr:root//element(*, dam:Asset)[(jcr:content/metadata/@dam:size)=('2048')] But when I use the operators for > or <, the query fails to return results although I know there are several such assets in my repository. Is the property having a Long datatype being read as a String? I tried applying /jcr:root//element(*, dam:Asset)[(jcr:content/metadata/@dam:size...
