How to filter for "Min" task number? - Workfront 30-11-2021
Looking for syntax (presumably in text mode) to add a filter to a task report to only display the minimum open task number for a project. Example: A Project has 5 tasks: Task 1 - CompleteTask 2 - CompleteTask 3 - OpenTask 4 - OpenTask 5 - Open I want to return only Task 3 (the lowest open task). In SQL, I would use the MIN() function to do this. Is there something similar using Workfront's text mode syntax? Thanks!

Report/Chart Grouping: Count Projects by Current Milestone - how to determine what Milestone a project is currently at? - Workfront 23-11-2021
I have a report help request from an end user. They are trying to create a pie chart of # of projects grouped by current Milestone. Current Milestone = the earliest Milestone task in a Milestone path that's not yet at 100% complete. Example: There are 3 milestones in a path for each project (milestone 1, milestone 2, milestone 3) Project 1: Milestone 1 = 50%Milestone 2 = 0%Milestone 3 = 0% Project is a Milestone 1 Project 2: Milestone 1 = 100%Milestone 2 = 0%Milestone 3 = 0% Project is at Milest...

Standardized/Generic Access Levels? - Workfront 24-08-2018
Wondering if most people use the default Access Levels from Workfront or at least a Standardized set of Access Levels regardless of the Home Group in which the users belong to? We currently have a full set of Access Levels for each Group of users as defined by the respective Group Admins but I see a lot of duplication (Group 1 - Planner, Group 2 - Project Planner, etc.) and think it would be better just to have generic ones such as: Group Administrator (Edit Access to everything except adding/de...

New User Requests - Workfront 01-08-2018
Wondering how most System Administrators handle new user requests from their users? Right now they are just coming to me from the Group Admins via email but they rarely provide all the required information (First Name, Last Name, Email, Access Level, Layout Template, Home Group, Home Team, Primary Job Role, etc.) I was thinking of setting up a Project with a Request Queue (with a Custom Form) for this to show up under the Requests tab but not sure if this is a good solution. I would need to upda...

Re: PMP Credits - Workfront 18-07-2018
Hi, Just came across this discussion. Has anyone logged PDUs for Workfront Training recently? Looking at the provided attachment. The credits are as follows: The individual courses make sense to me. As far as the programs go, I have completed the Project Manager Program and the Administrator Program via Workfront Ascent but they do have overlapping courses within them. In this case, what would I log with PMI as my PDU claim? Just 3 and 3 (6 total) for one or the other? Or would I claim all 12? T...

Re: Workfront Release Management for System Admins - Workfront 21-02-2018
Thanks very much David and Vic for the helpful responses! When you test for a release, do you just test the new features that might affect the end-users or do you also test things like custom forms that might differ from the default Workfront setup? I assume Workfront does their own extensive testing making sure all the existing Program/Project/Task/Approval/Reporting/Setup etc. functions continue to work with each release. Keegan

Workfront Release Management for System Admins - Workfront 20-02-2018
Hi, We are new to Workfront and I am a fairly green System Administrator. Release 2018.1 will be our first time going through a Workfront release and our first experience handling updates in a cloud-based environment where we don't have control over the release schedule. We have the System Administrators located in Central IT and several end-user groups using the environment in different ways for different Business Units, etc. Looking for some advice or links to best practices for handling these...
