How to import an AEM zipped package (/conf) to local IDE? - Adobe Experience Manager 08-12-2021
Hi AEM Community, according to Tyler Maynard the Pluralsight AEM courses author, the editable templates are store as follows:I'm in a situation where I'm missing the entire jcr_root/conf folder in the Project Structure/IDE/on the file system (Mac OS). I tried to sync with VSCode AEM Sync which didn't achieve the goal. Also in the Tyler Maynard's Pluralsight course "AEM Building Full Stack Components" he mentioned that when the developer needs to have the project structure on the right-handed side...

Changes on the page are not reflected in CRXDE in real time, nor the other way around - Adobe Experience Manager 08-12-2021
Hi AEM Community, have you ran into this situation before where the changes you've made on the page or on the template are not reflected in CRXDE?Below is an example when "changes made on the UI are not reflected in CRXDE"Via the UI, I created two editable templates, one called "old" the other called "new"However, in CRXDE, I only have "Home Page Corp New", and "Home Page Corp". And "Home Page Corp" is the same as "Home Page Corp Old" before the renaming. Does anybody know why this renaming is no...

Re: After Updating to AEM 6.5.10 the Create Page option is not appearing for some pages - Adobe Experience Manager 02-12-2021
Hi @Kiran_Vedantam ,thanks for the hints. When it comes your #1 tip, what if the page I'm trying to create is the root page? (I have exactly same issue as shown in the original post). I share the same symptom-description picture as in the original post.Plus below is how it looks in my CRXDE, where under /sites I do have jcr:contentThanks!

Re: How to import the templates from /conf into IntelliJ or VSCode? - Adobe Experience Manager 02-12-2021
Hi Thank you very much for the reply! I can't reproduce the first step of your success procedure@RajaShankar wrote:Hi @infiniteshi I have the same Wknd Site setup in my local and to sync the CRXDE to Local for /Conf FolderI just right clicked on top of /ui.content/src/main/content/conf/ as shown below then selected import from server because the problem on my end is that I don't have /ui.content/src/main/content/conf/ available in VSCode. I only have /ui.content/src/main/content/content<...>The ...

How to close the gap between CRXDE and the code base - Adobe Experience Manager 30-11-2021
Hi AEM Community,I'm working on a page in AEM in its editor mode and the components on that page are not functioning. The error says that File "/apps//foundation/global.jsp" not foundBut I can see this folder in the code base within my IDE (IntelliJ and VSCode, screenshot below from VSCode though)and I tried to use VSCode AEM Sync to export the entire /foundation folder as well as its two child files into my local AEM instance (6.5.0).However, despite the "success" message from the sync effort I...

How to import the templates from /conf into IntelliJ or VSCode? - Adobe Experience Manager 30-11-2021
Hi AEM Community, I used the Editable Template to create a new template, and when I'm done, the new template is to be found under /conf in CRXDE. Then I tried to import the new template into an IDE - ideally either IntelliJ or VSCode, but had a hard time doing so. ****What I've tried****I tried to use the VSCode AEM Sync extension which is very nice and did part of the job as shown below. I right-click on jcr_root and do "Import from AEM Server" it only imported the /content/jcr_root/content, no...

Re: Sidekick Issue (Default components are not displaying) - Adobe Experience Manager 29-11-2021
All the three links you provided are not working (all redirect to https://community.adobe.com/). Could anybody update them, please?@Tuhin_Ghosh wrote:Hi, There might be number of reasons for which the components might not be showing in your sidekick. Re: WKND Chapter 5 Style System - Style Icon (Paintbrush) not showing up for Title Component - Adobe Experience Manager 01-11-2021
Problem solved and this is how-to:(1) I opened up in CRX/DE to locate where my policies are stored /conf/project_name/settings/wcm/policies/component_name/policy_randomNumber(2) I saw about 8 title policies there for title from my previous attempts/experimentations, all with unique uuid but with the same name "WKND Title" and the same cmp-title-underline config. I believe this is the root cause of the symptoms described above. Essentially I had 8 policies to switch on and off and that might have...

Re: WKND Chapter 5 Style System - Style Icon (Paintbrush) not showing up for Title Component - Adobe Experience Manager 01-11-2021
I applied the underline style in the Page policy setting and now can see the desired underline style on the Page level, meaning that all the titles now have an underline. The title component's policy still isn't doing anything, meaning I couldn't add the underline just to the title level and now I can't remove the underline added by the Page, either. This tells me that _title.scss is working fine for the Page level only, something is wrong on the title component. If the title component is working...

Re: WKND Chapter 5 Style System - Style Icon (Paintbrush) not showing up for Title Component - Adobe Experience Manager 28-10-2021
Update: I used a hacky way to partially solved the problem: checked out the style-system-solution branch, used mvn goals to build and deploy that code base, then I got the style icon / paintbrush. When I switched back to style-system-solution branch, the style icon is not gone. I hoped this would solve the whole issue so that I could at least move on to the next chapter, but like I said, it only partially helped: the style icon is available now with "Underline" as an option in the drop-down, but...
