@sschnelbach No, there isn’t a direct way to change the default topic type from “topic” to “concept” in the + Create > DITA Topic menu. We have raised a JIRA ticket DXML-17290 to get the default topic type from the first item of topic templates in the folder profile configuration.

No, we do not have {title} variable support here. Only two variables (elementName and id) are there. You can have different strings with these variable to have different patterns of IDs.

This issues is fixed in 4.3.

@sschnelbach Guides editor copying and pasting can create <simpletable> or <table>. It depends on the source contents. If you have complex features like merging cells in excel, it will be converted to <table>. <simpletable> is the default option for the table, but you can always rename it to <table>...
