For those interested. By default your driver will set Read Preference to Primary only. To change that you need to specify this on the connection string. I am currently experimenting with adding this to my start script "-Doak.mongo.uri.readPreference:secondaryPreferred"

Since SP1 AEM now allows reading from MongoDB secondaries. I have a question around the configuration of this. Do I need to explicitely state in the Mongo Config to allow reading from secondaries or is this in the AEM configuration ?Thanks in advance.

Thanks Justin. With 3rd party authentication & SSO more and more being adopted by large corporations, I assume the ability to define protected content per policy without having users / groups in AEM will be something that AEM will be delivering some time in the future???What do you mean with encapsulated tokens? Is there some documentation somewhere on Adobe's website. My initial question was to do authentication & authorisation withing sticky connections (and ideally without user data persisten...

Thanks Justin. Is it possible to overwrite CUG functionality with our own service where we get an authenticated user's policy or entitlement from a 3rd party system (e.g., a group name) and then check if it matches the CUG requirements on a resource. I don't want to store User data in the JCR as then I'd need to enable sticky connections which kind of breaks the whole redundancy model we've got baked in.

I am looking for a solution for integrating with our IDP (ForgeRock) where authentication would not require any server side persistence of a token (e.g, using JWT). That way I wouldn't need to worry about sticky connections. Is that possible in AEM. I've not tried out all possibilities, but looks like all implementations recommended by AEM would involve synching some user data from IDP to AEM and then relying on sticky connections to ensure the visitor gets redirected to the publish instance with...

All,we're running 5.6.1. I've started CQ by renaming my jar files:1) cq5-author-45022) cq5-publish-4503I have a servletfilter that checks the runmode you're in using this way:System.getProperty("sling.run.modes") However, when I just run the Author from the quickstart jar, this returns null. When I run Author in debug mode it works fine. When I run Publish from the quickstart.jar it also runs fine (returns publish). The strange thing is, when I check in the felix console xxx//system/console/statu...

I have two questions:1) When I apply settings via the felix console, they get saved as nodes of nt:file with a jcr:content node underneath. I see everywhere else to use osgiconfig nodes instead. Which one of the two is preferred when setting these configurations using curl2) I have issues creating nodes underneath a parent node of the format: config.author or map.publish if there already is a config or map node. Sling is just mapping my request to config / map, rather than config.author / map.pu...

Followed instructions here:http://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-0/deploy/configuring/config-ssl.html I can load the author environment over prod.authoring.aem:5443 now. I am now trying to set up a redirect such that all attempts to prod.authoring:4502 are immediately redirected to prod.authoring:5433.However, when I create the sling:mapping as suggested in the article above, and I try to load on part 4502, the redirect doesn't work. I followed these instructions to setup my multiple domains on AEM:http://www.cognifide.com/blogs/cq/multidomain-cq-mappings-and-apache-configuration/I noticed that this in fact adds the domain name to my URLs. Which is undesired. Does anyone know how to create sling:mappings to shorten URLs without adding the domain name?To clarify, what I mean with: it adds the domain name to the links:When using the setup form above the cached pages on teh dispatcher contain hardcoded absolute links containing...

I have reasons to believe that it's related to the activation that happens on a page /content/sitea underneath which the oak:index lives. I've explicitly excluded that node from replication now and haven't seen it again, but would be good to get confirmation that the oak:index/specific-index shouldn't be activated.Cheers, K

I raised a daycare ticket too but thought of posting here too just in case someone has seen this before. It only happens on the publishers. Perhaps the index gets overwritten when we activate? Is it the TarOptimisation? I don't know.

I am using TarMK with SP2 and Hotfix 5779 (oak: 1.0.11)I have a custom index /content/site/oak:index/custom-indexWhen I request a re-index all documents are present. But roughly a day later the documents are gone again. What backend process would I need to watch out for?Any help greatly appreciated, we are using this already in production.

I saw this doc already including others that explain the nonroot lucene index. But none give the information I requested above. Non explain if you can have multiple lucene indexes on the same page type or how it chooses the index. I ve used the query analyzer which is how I know its picking the wrong index. SP2 gives a lot of freedom re: index but unfortunately not a lot of documentation. Have been trying to get same information from daycare too.

Also, I've noticed that other parts of the authoring environment have become slower. Sorry for not being able to specify better. But what actually happens when you use a non-root index.E.g., when I delete the lucene-tags index, I would have expected to use the cq:Tags index (default) for any queries only containing tags. But it doesn't. It still uses the non-root lucene-events one.

We're running on MongoMK SP2 + hotfix 5779.To optimize performance we are creating custom lucene indexes on content path. So something like this:/content/sitea/oak:index//content/siteb/oak:index/We have three types of search on cq:Page: for blog posts (property blog=true), events (property event=true), tags & free text.I thought of creating four lucene indexes per site: one fulltext, three that include the properties. Something like:/oak:index/lucene-blog --> on type cq:Page, indexing property b...

Trying to get an understanding of what process is handling the moving of pages when doing a bulk move. We notice a lot of OAK merges in our error log, related "the node X was changed in revision Y which was applied after the base revision". I'd like to check the log files for these errors. We used to bulk move in our staging environment before and never saw these issues. We're now running MongoMK SP2 + hotfix 5779. Could this be related to the SP2 upgrade? Also would it be fair to assume that in ...

This is the only thing in the log file that may provide a hint. Disk space is not an issue. It works fine in other environments that have the same setup. So it's more a bug rather than a overall configuration thing. 29.09.2014 10:54:31.125 *INFO* [Workflow Starter Thread] com.adobe.granite.workflow.core.launcher.WorkflowLauncherListener Is in same workflow: /etc/workflow/models/dam/update_asset/jcr:content/model payload: /content/dam/TEST.jpg/jcr:content/renditions/originalAnyone?

Hi, I use AEM 6, with Mongo replica set backend. In our Dev and Prod environments we can upload DAM assets and that works fine - creates the renditions etc. In our QA environment, however, we get a STALE workflow each time. Tried restarting everything, in case the mongo replica set is acting up. But to no avail. The error log reveals nothing, nada. I read on this forum something about adding a debugger for this workflow. But for what service should I exactly create this logger then?Any fast reply...

Hope this is an easy one to resolve. I've been looking at the improvements made with SP2 and the added flexibility we now have for creating custom indexes. I for some reason don't get it to work however. My search keeps using the cqTags index. Even when I delete the cqTags index! I make sure I have reindexed my custom index. But for some reason it doesn't get picked up.So here is the question:1) How do I make sure an index is removed?2) How can I see that a custom index is even considered when q...

Funny thing going on. I've got a clean AEM 6.0 instance running against a MongoDB replica set of 3 members. Author only. Right after bringing this environment up, I install SP1 and I get this errorAuthenticationSupport service missing. Sham, I initially wanted to use the /ignoreURLParameters setting, but the effect of using this is that query parameters are in fact ignored. So www.blog.com/page?tag=square is equal to www.blog.com/page?tag=triangle. They are saved in the apache layer as www.blog.com/page.htmlPlease correct me if that should work though, maybe I did something wrong on my end.

I would like to be able to cache pages that have a query. E.g, those with a querystring such as www.domain.com?q=searchWe're fronting our installation with Akamai, and Akamai is already caching these URLs, but each 15mins Akamai will go back to the origin and fetch straight from the publisher again. Because there is no cached file for this URL. I'd like to change this. One way I saw suggested to do this is:1) Rewrite in apache to www.domain.com.q.search.html (or similar)2) Then rewrite again in A...
