I am trying to play with AEM and comparing with other portal that I have already worked. One of the common leads that we get is to have an intranet portal. Now, I was reading around AEM documentation and have tried my hands on AEM Communities (I created an Engagement Community). It was pretty nifty and it automatically created a bunch of pages with forums, blogs, quick links, calendar, etc which normally a intranet portal asks for.So is it safe to assume that we should use AEM Communities to cat...

smacdonald2008 I was able to figure out why it happened. It seems that the content is blocked for India. I used a VPN and accessed the site using US server and I was able to see the content. Thanks,Sandeep

Hi,I am trying to install Alfred using SVT, I have downloaded SVT and installed it, which works fine. Next as a pre-requisite, I created a folder called alfred and placed my cq-quickstart-6.4.0.jar and pasted the license.properties. There is no jcr folder yet.I am then trying to install alfred, by pointing the home directory to "alfred" folder I created earlier, and selecting the jar and license properties respectively. I then clicked on install. This has downloaded the alfred package to alfred/...

Any idea why this is happening to me. One question is if you have seen my first screenshot in last reply you can see "Unit Testing" is bolded out with no link, whereas "Teaser and Carousel Extension" where href is there is shown as link. Is that how AEM deals with showing links which doesnt have permission. In that case it definitely is a permission issue. Second question is have you tried with login or without login? I believe it should happen to you without login if its a permission issue and ...

Thanks. That makes absolute sense. I come from Liferay background where the assets are scoped to site specific and there is also a global scope. So I believe that by default all the asset in AEM is at global scope and admin can restrict the visibility from there.Regards,Sandeep

Thanks Gaurav for your helpful response. One question, is like if I upload it this way, is the content/asset (in this case image) will be available to all the sites like WKND and WE.Retail. Or will it be only available to WKND.Regards,Sandeep

Hi,I am following WKND tutorial and in chapter 3 at the very end there is an optional exercise to upload images to dam. I am clueless as to how to do so? Is it from frontend or backend? The zip file has certain structure, which seems like I have to copy images from backend. But from where should i do so? And is it the standard way of uploading content - alway via backend.Getting Started with AEM Sites Chapter 3 - Client-Side Libraries and Responsive Grid Regards,Sandeep

Thank you very much. That is indeed very helpful. I am tempted to mark this answer, but just some quesitons. I see that there are various umbrellas. Experience Manager has "Sites", "Assets", "Dynamic Media", "Forms" and "LiveFyre". Similarly there is an umbrella for Targe, Campaign and so on.Is it safe to assume that WKND is good place to understand the overall concepts of "sites" and similarly the link i earlier shared for adaptive form is what is need to get a gist of "Forms" in entiretyI used...

What I am looking for is a single stop logical sequence of steps following which I could atleast get 75% of what AEM provides in right context. Like in Liferay when I follow the step, I get to know initially the platform like how to navigate through site, what is groups, roles adn organization. How to manage users, user groups, roles and permissions, how to create sites, site templates, page templates, pages, portlets, how to use wcm, document management, collaboration features, etc in logical w...

Hi,I have recently started exploring AEM and I am seeing that even though there is a lot of information in user guides/tutorials, there is information overload. I have worked with Liferay and have fair amount of knowledge in Liferay and am trying to compare features and also build something to get acquainted with the platform.I saw in one of the forum posts, one of the community member has taken pain to list and group articles, but the links are to an outdated version of the platform. I have dow...
