+1. The options JDungan described are exactly what we need. These options would save us hours of lost work and frustration sifting thru reports when there’s a temporary failure outside our control.

Suggested a related idea in case it interests others: "Show the Rule Name at all times" In short, when we open rule components, at least show the rule name so we know what we are editing.

Please show the rule name when a user is viewing / editing a rule's components. It is very easy to lose your place.
