Looks like merchandising evars don't work. The data never came through. I changed the data source to populate a standard evar and it's come through just fine.

I am looking at using Data Sources to import some off site data in to our Analytics report suite. I have created a test file with a single dimension and a single metric. The total of the metrics is showing in Workspace, but the dimension breakdown isn't showing. The dimension I have used is a merchandising dimension. Is this a problem? Am I able to use a merchandising dimension for this, or does it need to be a "normal" dimension? I might just be impatient, and not waited long enough for the bre...

Description - When looking at the history of a rule it would be useful to see the date that the version was createdWhy is this feature important to you - When looking back over multiple versions, it is impossible to tell when each version was created. You can see that some versions were published, but a date, author and library would be good to track whcih versions have been used in different scenarios. How would you like the feature to work - In the version drop down, the date created should be ...

An interesting approach. I've always relied on ClearVars at the start of each rule, and then global variables and some bits and bobs in the custom code in the extension, and never had a problem. But this is an interesting alternative.

I've come up with a work around - I've added a custom code condition that writes an entry into session storage with the name of the video, and only returns true if the session object isn't present. This seems to have worked and means the calls are only being triggered once per session.

We are using the Media Events in Launch to trigger start/25%/50%/75%/100% video tracking. The problem is that all the videos on the site are short looped ones, so we are getting loads of duplicated events as the video triggers. Is there a way to set the Media events to only trigger once per video? I looked into adding an extra action with a $("video").off() jQuery call to remove the handler, but couldn't work out what handler to remove.

Right, we've solved this in Workspace using a flow visualisation and the evar that is set at the same time as the event fires: (e220 fires to say chat interaction, and v165 has the details of what the interaction was) Now for the real question... how to do this in Report Builder? 😄 I think I'm going to resort to "Create Segment from this path..." and build a segment for each page type. Luckily I'm only interested in five or six page types, not all of them...

I can segment for a hit using the hit scope in the segment builder. I'm trying to find the trend of what the page type is that people visit immediately after an event happens. But I want to know only the first value rather than all page types after the event. I don't see how it is different to entry page, other than the event is a custom event rather than the visit start.

I'm trying to define a segment to get me the single hit after a particular event happens. I've tried a number of combinations of sequential segments and exclusions but nothing seems to get just the one hit. The question I'm trying to answer is: What was the Page Type (v12 and p1) immediately after the customer interacted with the chatbot (event220)? I've tried the following: and also:  But these don't limit to just the one hit. How do I get just the single hit? Can I use something like Entry pag...

It looks like the cookieless hit isn’t included in the same visit. So when the cookied hit brings back a new MCVID it is starting a new visit, rather than adding on to the anon session. We tested multiple visits from the same cookieless user, and Adobe was able to stitch them together into the right visits / visitors, but it seems to fail when a user goes from cookieless to cookied.

Hello AA Experts! Has anyone implemented AA alongside One Trust for EU GDPR compliance? We have had it in place for a while, but recently had to make some updates that the legal team wanted to improve compliance. We put the Adobe optin code in the One Trust optanonwrapper function, setting the opt in properties based on which categories the customer opts in to (we set this function via a rule in Launch which runs on library loaded). I also update the s.cookieLifetime property (in the top of the Ex...

We want to serialize a numeric event so it is only captured once. Is this possible? I can only find separate documentation about serialization and numeric types, but nothing about them together. If it is possible, what is the required syntax in the tag code? Assume our Event is XXX. We have 2 values to populate; the serialization value and a numeric:eventXXX:46f0f2e2abcf75579c74eventXXX=100 So, should the Syntax by:eventXXX:46f0f2e2abcf75579c74=100 Or perhaps this:eventXXX=100:46f0f2e2abcf75579c...

I want to do a report on a particular product sku, but the calculated metric builder uses hit level segments which don't work with merchandising evars. Example:I want to know what percentage of sales are gift wrapping. In Workspace I can add a filter on Product, which brings back the correct table. But if I try to make a calculated metric, it automatically creates a hit level segment, which then includes all products in the order that had gift wrapping:   Is there a way to do a calculated metric...

It looks like this isn't a problem with the tag, but with the Chrome Extension. The events are actually being fired each time. So I think it's not really a problem.

We're doing testing having migrated from DTM to Launch. Most things look right but there's something odd going on with the Facebook pixel. The tag is added via a rule, and then various events are triggered via additional rules based on either page load, or on button clicks. In Launch, it looks like the page load events are getting triggered on every page load, even if the rules aren't firing. These are all the rules: When the page loads, the debugging output says that the rules aren't firing (exc...

I moved a whole bunch of custom configuration code out of the “custom library code” (and set it to "manage the library for me") and into the “configure tracker using custom code” section, and as if by magic the global variables and Set Attributes parts of the tool are working again. So it must have been something in that code which was breaking it.

We have just migrated our properties from DTM. When I try to view an AA: Set Variables action for any of our page or event rules, I get a blank page with "There was an error loading this extension view". Possibly related, when I try to open the Global Variables accordion in the Analytics Extension configuration, nothing opens. I just get the down arrow but nothing appears. Any ideas of where to look to fix this?
