Re: Best Practices/New uses craigketner - Adobe Analytics
I totally agree with this one. A forum may serve this function since you are able to perform searches on topics. We do have the Google Insight forum but not all Insight users are members and we don't have a good way to get the word out to all users to join it. Moving over to Omniture's forum might work but they would need to create one that is specific to Insight. Along with that Omniture would need to be the one to champion use of the Insight forum since they would have access to Insight client...

Provide Ability to Sort Workspaces by Timestamp craigketner - Adobe Analytics
I've been using Insight for years so most of my workspace folders have hundreds of workspaces I've saved over time. Frequently I will add a new workspace saved with a certain name and then be unable to remember the name the next day I am looking for it. It would be wonderful if I could simply sort the workspace icons by Date so the most recent workspace comes to the top. Along with that provide a way to show the Timestamp of the last time it was saved under each workspace.

Re: Query Confidence craigketner - Adobe Analytics
I searched Sidebar and there is nothing there that specifies (that I see). I switched to Query Confidence and then tested changing profiles and also exiting. In both situations it loads defaulting to Query Completion for me. It feels like Omniture defaulted to Query Completion in the release. I am running release 5.31i (10031911). Are you running the same?

Add Sort Capability to Details Table craigketner - Adobe Analytics
Details Table is my favorite Insight feature. Currently there is no control of the sort order in a Details Table. It would be great if Details Table had the ability to sort the same way as a regular table. For example, a common sort order I would use is on Hour on the Sessions level and then by Visitor ID. Perhaps a way to tag a dimension on the table as 1st sort order, 2nd sort order, etc.

Create Drag & Drop Capability to Rearrange Metrics and Dimensions craigketner - Adobe Analytics
This would save time avoiding menus if metrics and dimensions could be easily rearranged and positioned via drag & drop. This should apply to Tables as well as Graphs. It would be a great useability enhancement.

Provide Tools to Help Optimize Report Server Settings craigketner - Adobe Analytics
I realize this may be tough to do but it’s even tougher for Administrators to know the best combination of settings for Update Interval, Maximum Slice Size, Result Memory Limit, etc. There is no training available for this. It would help to provide some sort of automation to help determine the optimum settings based on historical performance running reports. It may require something to parse performance metrics out of logs that can be used to recommend better settings. I guess this is more of an...

Make it Easier to Create Process Maps for Various Dimensions craigketner - Adobe Analytics
I often need 2D process maps for different dimensions. I have created a library of different dimension process maps by manually editing the VW file in Notepad for the dimension and then making it available under a Visualization menu. This is fine for someone with Administrator access but not a good method for most users. There needs to be a way to open a generic 2D Process Map and then right-click anywhere in the Process Map to select a dimension from the Table menu.

On 2D Process Maps Remove Dimming of Relationships Between Nodes craigketner - Adobe Analytics
This is a particular peeve of mine since we use 2D Process Maps extensively. Stop dimming the nodes, lines and quantities/percentages between nodes when the values are small. That is a very irritating and useless feature since the you already have a visual of volume based on size of node. At a minimum, provide a way to toggle the dimming for users who don’t want it. Seems like a very easy thing to fix.

It's Time to Improve 2D Graphs craigketner - Adobe Analytics
They are called 2D Graphs since you have to select two dimensions but I'm talking about the 3D Graphs in Insight. I've been using the product since early 2003 and in that time there have never been any improvements to 2D Graphs. There needs to be a way to apply many of the same features found in Table. These include...enable sorting and masking of data elements for both dimension axesswapping of axis dimensionsability to easily change the metric

Re: Color Code Dimensions craigketner - Adobe Analytics
Wow, that is a pretty good idea. Parent level of dimension has always been confusing to most users when selecting queries; usually leading to misinterpretation of results. A visual clue probably would be very helpful and would make users more conscious of the parent level and it's meaning.

Re: Query Confidence craigketner - Adobe Analytics
Rory, I don't have this issue in 5.31. I simply selected Query Completion and it saved that way ever since. Mine always defaults to Query Completion when I load any profile. - Craig

Re: IP Geography Visualization craigketner - Adobe Analytics
This would be huge for LendingTree and was specifically requested by our CMO. I asked Peter Shum about it a few weeks ago. He said it cannot be done unless the product can support arc instead of vector files. The census bureau is only using arc files now which can easily be downloaded and installed in workstation, however workstation does not read arc files. He suggested that we push this during our CAB meetings. Sounds like this Ideas Exchange is a great start for that. Let's get this one promo...

Re: Ability to report Insight usage by user craigketner - Adobe Analytics
This is an excellent idea and should be part of the product functionality. Insight folks at Omniture do have a profile they call "Query Analyzer" that reads it's own Trace logs to pull some of the information you mention. They are willing to share it if you ask for it but you might need some consulting help setting it up. It also presents a load on the system so you might want to run it from a Test server. But doing all this is a bit cumbersome so I agree that it should be part of the out of box...
