I've created a segment that check for the existence of an order on a hit
like so:When I use this segment along with my URL pathing report I'll
see something like:Enter site -> example.com/some_urlExit SiteI don't
really understand why this would appear. I have checkout and
purchase/order events plugged in so I would expect the URL pathing
report to have those links. For example, I figured all the reports would
include all the various paths surrounding a purchase event.Enter site->
Thanks for the reply! That sounds quite practical. So, just to confirm,
when an event-based rule fires (using DTM) sends a success event, any
props/eVars that were set on the page load are not sent along with it
and I'll need to re-reference them using the data elements? For a
concrete example - let's say a user clicked a banner and I store the
banner name in eVar4. Next, the user proceeds to purchase an item and I
have an event-based rule that fires the "purchase" event after
checkout...in order ...
I'd like to be able to see what pages a user viewed before the
scCheckout event. In a similar fashion, I have pathing enabled on link
clicks, but how can I view the link clicks that led to a specific
success event?Note: I'd like to do this via DTM.
Hey Parit,Thanks for the reply! I've been using DTM rules to manage
those variables. Am I better off just writing the code like you've
provided versus using DTM to manage everything? Not sure if the same
rules apply when using DTM rules? When using DTM, the event-based rule
section doesn't allow me to reference variables that are set in the page
load section. I can either use "Set as" or "Duplicate from".When I use
the debugger, I do see that all the variables are set correctly. My
question can b...
I've got a few props and evars that I set on page load for all pages on
my site. If I create an event-based rule, do I need to set those
variables again? It seems like they're being set already. Also, does
this have any affect on pathing?
I've got an event based rule to track when a user signs up using a form.
When I go to Adobe Analytics, the event doesn't show up. Ideally, I'd
like to add a name to the custom event as well so that it'd show up as
"Free User Registration" in Adobe Analytics. Am I missing something
important in my setup? Is this something that will require JS to do?
Below are two images with the current setup.
