The only annoying part is that when I eventually get around to resetting the sandbox from Prod, I'll have to put that setting back in again on each layout template. But that's a fairly quick exercise.

The one use-case you might have for non-admin is if you had a Group that wanted to build Fusion scenarios but you wanted to restrict their scenarios to only accessing the records that the team themselves could ordinarily access.
