Hi All,Suppose by mistake, thousands of pages in author are deleted. What would be the best way to retrieve them?Probably the only details we would know is the approximate time, as to when it was deleted.Any thoughts on this will be helpful.

In a text component we've configured our rich text editor in the component dialog to have a default past mode of "plaintext" to ensure that it will use the select style, eg simple <p> tags, or headings, to ensure the CSS for the page will have full control of the styling.The component is also enabled for inline edit.  This works great unless you past text from word or html as this mode will include the styling, meaning the text does not render using the CSS styles.Is there any way to control the handling of pasted data in inline edit mode?  Ideally we just want plaintext in all editing modes.

Easy one for you guys: Can we take a content package (pages and assets) from a 5.6 instance, and upload/install it to a 6.0 instance?sub-question: Can we set a replication agent from a 5.6 author instance to a 6.0 author instance? is this recommended or not?If not, once the in-place upgrade is done, what's the best solution to sync content between the 2 versions during the time it takes for the go live on a 6.0?Thank you.

Hi there.We have the following scenario:- Dispatcher instance, we're caching for performance + security.- Publisher instanceLet's say we request an asset http://site/content/dam/assets/brochure.pdf, this will get cached in our dispatcher dir and will be available normally.Now let's say we request an asset's thumbnail http://site/content/dam/assets/brochure.pdf/jcr\:content/dir/brochure.jpg, this also will be cached in our dispatcher, but the first pdf will no longer be available for us.We don't know why this is happening, but any asset with thumbnail will create as a directory within our cache, not as a file; and will respond a 404 when requested as http://site/content/dam/assets/brochure.pdfWe've tried to delete dispatcher cache directory, but it refreshes the same way. Is there a way to debug this? Maybe within dispatcher configuration? Thanks!

Is there a way where metadata created in the DAM can be retained, if I downloaded the asset and viewed it outside of AEM?

Hi,We are managing CSS via clientlib.For example:/static/mysite/global/css/css1.css/static/mysite/global/css/css2.css/static/mysite/global/css/css3.css/static/mysite/global/css.txtSo when I say http://localhost:4502/static/mysite/global.<finger printing here>.css  (like global.20152701.css) its working well and CQ is able to resolve it back to /static/mysite/global.cssBut when I try to figerprint direct CSS file then it gives for 404. Is there any way I can enable finger printing / selector on direct CSS paths toohttp://localhost:4502//static/mysite/global/css/css3.<finger printing here>.css  (like css3.2015042701.css)Is there any CQ setting i have to do here. I have a special requirement where I need to access this CSS directly instead of via clientlib method.

I was working on website movement from HTTP to HTTPS So I was aware that I can write the 301 redirect rule in AEM instance. But was exploring option if this could be done using reverse proxy, or if  possibleI can add dispatcher rule that could support 301 redirect.   Please if you could suggest which is better reverse proxy or 301 redirect for SEO

Hi,Is there a way to provide access to a folder in AEM without providing access to its sub-folders.Currently the way it works is if you provide permission to the parent folder, all children folders inherit the access automatically.So you would need to deselect the checkbox from the child folders if you want to provide access to selective sub-folders.For example, for our case there is a Vendor content folder under which there are around 200 company folders.Now ideally a user should only be able to see his company folder alone. However in order to achieve that I would have to provide access to the Vendor folder and then deselect the access from 199 folders leaving aside the company folder the user belongs to. This is very painful and error prone as its humongous manual work.Can anyone please help here?Thanks, Souradeep

    We are using the com.day.cq.wcm.foundation.Search object to do basic full text searches in our site and I've got a question about how it determines what value to assign to Search.Hit.excerpt. We've got the following properties defined for excerpt properties: text, jcr:description, history:caption, and history:description. If the search terms are found in any of those properties the excerpt is returned correctly, but if they're not found in those properties the excerpt returned is the last 60 characters from the history:description field. Is this expected behavior for the search?

I am trying to use a WCMUse class in sightly to get an object from java class which I created under the component definition. I tried another way of creating a WCMUse java class in eclipse multi-module project but it is throwing "No use provider could resolve identifier: com.pro.eLearning.core.impl.servlets.CourseDisplay" error. Hi, I have few questions on deploying AEM 6.0 with tomcat.1. How do i pass "nosamplecontent" parameter to deploy AEM without any test content? Do i need to pass as part of JVM parameters?2. Where can i specify the storage type (TarmMK or MongoDB), when AEM is deployed? By default it will be TarMK. If i want to change to MongoDB, do i need to add author,crx3mongo in sling.run.modes in web.xml?3. I see many errors rolling after installing the Hot fix 5869 on top SP2. Does anyone see errors in error.log?

Hi, Package manager is going to error page for CQ admin. Getting an error as "Cannot serve request to /crx/packmgr.html on this server"I have checked the permission in '/libs/cq/core/content/welcome/features/packages'. The problem we have is that there are no components in the sidekick...  in edit mode. In design mode, there are no components available to enable. The entire section of component checkboxes is missing. The errors logs indicate a problem, but I'm not sure how to correct it. And /libs/wcm/core/content/components.1430058176772.json results in an empty JSON object {}. I have excel sheet where i have got content in chinese / arabic which needs to be uploaded to CQ. In excel i can see they are displaying fine. I am thinking of using curl command automate the process. Hi thereWe're having some strange behaviour on our test-environement. We usually create a copy from our productive author as a test system from time to time.Yesterday we noticed that the author created 1.6 million durboxxxxxxxx.ser files in the temp directory. Thinking those may have come from a long uptime, we shutdown the author and cleaned up the directory. Now 1 day later there are already 150'000 new durbo files whereas our productive author only created 500 of those.Does someone have a hint what might be causing this many files on the system?Thanks alot!Ahatius
